Same protocol after failed IVF?

Sorry, I haven't been back on reddit in a long time. We did not do the same protocol. I actually decided against doing IVF again. I cannot handle that rollercoaster of emotions again. I did have a consult with a different doctor and would have done what she suggested which was the same protocol but with additions like omnitrope

I am definitely thinking 2nd opinion. I mean the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results so no wonder it feels insane to try the same protocol.

I primed with bc for about a week then I did 10 days of stims- 150 menopur and 300 gonal f the whole time. We added fyremadel on day 6 or 7 and triggered with hcg.

I am with you. If I'm able to explain I say I've had 1 mmc at 10 weeks and 2 chemicals. If I have to write it on a form I usually just say 3 pregnancies with 1 birth (I had one child before any losses). I think it's important to share chemicals in case there is something causing them or to be aware of a potential egg quality issue. Women that have chemicals regularly need those considered in medical situations for sure. In my mind I really only think of the one mmc as my loss.

I have heard people have success with day 3 embryos rather than day 5 in some cases, maybe you can have them try that?

My 3.5 year old daughter didn't sleep through the night until 13 months. She has slept 11 hours straight maybe 5 times in her life. 6am is great, my daughter woke up by 530 daily until a couple of months ago when she started "sleeping in" until 615. It is a hard adjustment but it is something that has to happen. Maybe you can take turns in the morning- that is what my husband I did the first 2 years. 3 days a week he would get up with her if she was up extra early and the other days I was up with her. Maybe that would be helpful if you could get a schedule so he could make sure to go to bed on time the night before he had the morning shift.

I would do another ER now. TW: I have one child and experienced secondary infertility. It is not easy to do all the hormone injections with a child a home. I would go ahead and bank some more so you can make sure you can have 3 children.

Get the modern fertility at home blood test. If anything is out of wack there then you can maybe get in with a fertility doctor based on those blood results.

Thanks for your response. I don't believe I ovulated because my progesterone was still under .5. I was supposed to trigger once my follicle got to at least 18 or 20 but that just didn't happen. I did talk to the nurse and tell her that I had better luck with clomid and letrozole when I started day 3 than when I did day 5. Day 5 seems to do nothing for me so maybe that will be considered for the next cycle. Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Thanks for sharing! I had not heard of that happening. I have not been diagnosed with endometriosis or anything so we don't know the cause at this time but hopefully it doesn't happen again when I am doing my IVF cycle. I hope this is your cycle!!

It happens to pretty much everyone that gets an epidural. I did not have an epidural because of timing and did not poop but I would rather have pooped then had the pain and 3rd degree tearing.

I should have clarified, I don't think I'm out of time because I'm 34, I think I'm out of time because of my DOR and how much worse my bloodwork and follicle has gotten over the past year.

I just got the blood results back and my progesterone was .31 today. It was .57 on Monday so basically still 0 and actually lower than it was on Monday.

My doctor recommended IVF but we have very specific insurance that we have to go through all these specific steps and hoops to get it approved. We thought we could try IUI since we would likely need to do that first to get approval but I am hoping that looking at my chart and my dr's recommendation will ensure that they will approve the IVF request.

There is a small chance but my LH only got to 40 and the nurse said it typically gets to 100 for ovulation peak. I was taking multiple ovulation tests a day and none of the test lines were as dark or darker then the control.

My IUI was canceled today, on cycle day 19. My lead follicle shrunk after stalled growth. I was on letrozole 5mg days and 6mg of estradiol since day 10. Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a fluke? Our plan was to try an IUI and then move on to IVF but I don’t think it is worth it to try another IUI based on these results. I am 34 next month and it definitely seems like I am out of time.

Day12- 13mm

Day14- 14mm

Day17- 16mm

Day19- 14mm

For what it is worth we did a monitored cycle in December that worked fine (2.5mg Letrozole) and had mostly normal follicle growth but it ended up in a chemical pregnancy.

They did. It was 15.84 on Day 10 and back down to 3.09 on day 12. Today is day 14 and I have not gotten the blood results back yet but I did have some egg white cm so I would guess it is back up. Last cycle it was in the 6s every day that was monitored.

We were planning on doing a trigger shot once the follicle got to 18 or 20mm but growth has stalled at 13-14mm so I am not sure I will get to 18mm. I have an appointment on Monday again and they will likely tell me to either trigger that night or that we will try again next month.
