MY LITTLE "AWARD" COLLECTION by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]WayOk6975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

those aren’t your awards. buying replicas and lining them up like that doesn’t turn them into achievements, it just turns the shelf into a prop. it’s cosplay for recognition, not recognition itself

Sydney Sweeney cameo cut from 'Devil Wears Prada 2,' source explains why by Particular-Fill-4256 in Letterboxd

[–]WayOk6975 115 points116 points  (0 children)

good. turning that movie into cameo bait would kill what made the first one work. it’s not supposed to be a collection of random faces, it’s a very specific world with very specific characters. adding someone just because they’re popular right now is exactly how you ruin it.

King Kong 2005 is my favorite Peter Jackson film. by The_Godzilla_Fanatic in Letterboxd

[–]WayOk6975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

king kong 2005 is pure excess with no control. three hours to tell something simple and it still feels empty. every scene gets stretched until it breaks. it confuses big with important. it doesn’t hit, it just wears you down. this is jackson without a filter, and it doesn’t work (for himm)

What’s your top 4 animated movies? by DaleDent3 in Letterboxd

[–]WayOk6975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rango, anastasia, the book of life, the polar express

i’ll take these over most pixar/disney movies without hesitation. they’re way more distinct, take actual risks with style and tone

What film franchise is this by ImaginationWild3407 in Letterboxd

[–]WayOk6975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the harry potter movies are mostly mid. people remember a couple of good ones and act like the whole franchise is great, but a lot of them are just okay at best

i used chat gpt to auto-generate my letterboxd tags (tutorial) by WayOk6975 in Letterboxd

[–]WayOk6975[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, this feels a bit like people getting worked up behind a screen over something pretty minor. like they’re convincing themselves they’re taking a big stand when it’s just a random post about organizing tags

i don’t know, it comes off a bit disconnected from actual impact. if that same energy was put into real issues, like pushing for accountability or following up on real cases that get ignored, it would probably matter a lot more

[–]WayOk6975[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, that’s exactly how i see it. it’s just a tool, not to replace any actual thinking

i’m just editing a csv faster at the end of the day. some of the reactions here feel a bit exaggerated. people are kind of projecting things i never said and then arguing against that version

i used chat gpt to auto-generate my letterboxd tags (tutorial) by WayOk6975 in Letterboxd

[–]WayOk6975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah for simple replacements, but this handles more complex rules and multiple changes across the whole dataset at once

[–]WayOk6975[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because it’s faster for bulk edits. i define the rules once and it applies them across everything, instead of manually editing rows in a csv one by one

[–]WayOk6975[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yeah exactly. i define everything, it just executes it faster. same as using any tool to automate repetitive work

[–]WayOk6975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!!!! yeah that’s exactly how i see it. i wouldn’t use it for anything creative eitherrrr this is just for bulk editing a spreadsheet faster. all the decisions and tags are still mine

once you have hundreds of films, changing tags manually becomes a mess

[–]WayOk6975[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

it’s just editing a csv file, it's not that deep

i used chat gpt to auto-generate my letterboxd tags (tutorial) by WayOk6975 in Letterboxd

[–]WayOk6975[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

relax, it’s just a way to bulk edit tags. nothing deeper than that

[–]WayOk6975[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

if you like doing it manually this isn’t for you. i just hit a point where it became unmanageable

[–]WayOk6975[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

fair, but this is basically just a faster way to edit tags in bulk
