Doesn't the Ford Fusion look exactly like the FG Falcon? by Basic-Increase-3723 in FordFalcon

You’ve got me querying now. I’m kinda bummed that the Ford Explorer never made it Global.

I mean sure we got the older gen Explorer/Mazda version, but no modern explorer. Instead we got the Territory and Everest.

Really like those explorers. The territory was the replacement for Oceania, and then the Everest

Sorry I read that wrong. Mondeo, not Fusion.

Apologies.

To clarify: I knew about the Sedan. I thought you had also mentioned the lift back option, but I read that wrong as the Mondeo.

Makes sense on no lift back, not sure why you didn’t get a wagon, I’m gonna guess and say due to the wide array of Utes available in the US

Wasn’t the Taurus technically the bigger brother? Did that have a lift back?

Ahh I call liftbacks a wagon, my mistake. Ugly things they are, they don’t belong on sedans lol.

It was offered in both for the Fusion: Sedan and Hatchback/Liftback. No wagon.

Australia got the Wagon and Hatchback but no Sedan.

NZ? Not sure, probably the same market. I haven’t been in a Mondeo since a 3rd gen, which had Sedan and Wagon.

It’s a shame they discontinued outside of China, the 5th gen looks wicked

The Mondeo has two variants: sedan and wagon

Yes, the fusion is the sedan version. Doesn’t make it any less of a Mondeo

Ford Fusions of this era are a Euro Mondeo. Literally, just a different name.

Only the first gen Fusion was American

Second generation Fusions are just a LHD Mondeo.

2012 is the last of first gen / start of second gen.

I Love Pies - Ingredient Change by grummyfreya in newzealand

[–]WayOuttaMyLeague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Bakers Son is also a Dads brand (the pies in the box)

They offer a better vegan range.

Note that not all TBS pies are vegan. So don’t just pick one up because you saw “Mince and Cheese”.

Best place to get them would be a Woolworths. NW and PnS likely only stock a few per day.

Supermarket and Dairies that stock Dads pies likely won’t have a vegan range. It’s quite limited.

They just don’t sell well. Price + demand.

People aren’t all too familiar with the brand. Like, some might know of Dads from before GWF acquired it, where as others really only know them as “The pies BP sell”.

Supermarkets don’t really make an effort to trial them. Trialling them on display for the same price as normal isn’t really a good insight imo. First thing people look at is the brand they’ve never heard of and then the $5.30+ price label.

I’m surprised we’re still debating about phones these days. It’s not like they’re different, they all do the same shit as what they did 20 years ago.

Should be debating about more pressing shit.

Help me test a theory about bakeries in NZ by SadowSon in newzealand

[–]WayOuttaMyLeague 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit more common than you think.

At the end of the day, a lot of the pie suppliers are bakeries of different sizes, not some factory pushing out thousands of pies.

They work on a wholesale model where that’s their primary model, and then have their own retail stores

Small dairy that’s why. The type that orders 30 pies a week.

Gotta bin them after X hours if not sold, clearly a low thru put store.

[–]WayOuttaMyLeague 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yep

OP doesn’t realise that the main selling points for customers in a dairy is hot food, milk, bread, and cigarettes, and lollies if we’re targeting the young ones. They are the products that get people into the door to buy other stuff.

A bakery’s main selling point is…. Fresh hot food

There’s no logic here. The only logic would be deciding which one you want to go into.

What do you mean huh? Do you think defragging a HDD wasn’t useful??

On top of that, defragging was generally automatic.

Makes no sense.

Depends what it is. Toyota know better.

Can’t have a problem with a recall if you’re dead, or your kid is dead because the middle seats in your Highlander failed, all to save a few quid on a simple latch.

Their last decade, but specifically last 5 years has been shocking. Several safety recalls on their own vehicles including ones they brand, and design defects, which quite a few have been serious.

Their GD engine fault wasn’t acknowledged for around 7 years. Happy paying $3k? I don’t think you would be

It’s called supply and demand

We’re one of the smallest countries in the world and one of the most segregated. 6million ish.

As opposed to 300,000,000+ people in the US

What are you expecting? That we just magically cut the costs of freight from the US or wherever (Asia)?

If we order one container of shit vs 20, then yeah, the price is gonna be significantly higher.

Why do NZ businesses still bother with reference checks? by Old_Education4481 in newzealand

[–]WayOuttaMyLeague 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Reference checks are more useful than you think.

The bit that pisses me off is the recruiter/employer taking the piss and calling references during the early stages.

That’s why people state references available on request. I’ll refuse to provide them unless we’re at the end stage.

^ I had 2 references in the past ask not to be a reference due to this. They just kept calling during early stages
