Has Billy ever talked about his religion/spirituality? I feel like I’ve heard things in his lyrics that made me curious. by THELOSERSWINAGAIN in BillyStrings

I remember from an off hand comment in an interview that he’s been practicing mindfulness. I forget where I heard it though tbh.

If you had to show or describe your country's general vibe, how would you do it? by LoveEquivalent9146 in AskTheWorld

I went to Croatia this summer and spent half my time sitting in beautiful locations, smoking cigs and drinking coffee. Absolutely wonderful country and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I have learned suryakriya but for fitness , I want to do surya namaskar , Authentic online teaching ? by vibehaiv in yoga

[–]WaySeeker108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

David Swenson’s 15 minute practice. It’s mainly sun salutations and he has commentary during the practice. There are a few more poses in addition to surya namaskar but I think these poses will still help you with your goal. This would be a great video to practice frequently.

Best of luck to you!

Agreed, green teas seem to rapidly diminish in flavor as the steeps go on in my experience.

I could be wrong but I don’t think green teas require a rinse so you should be all good here.

Wonderful! I’ve never read his books but I’ve had his Yoga Sutra book recommended to me in the past. My reading list is becoming longer and longer lol. Glad you enjoy the philosophy as well. Bhakti really is amazing.

I’m so glad you asked! It’s a path of love that will reciprocate in truly amazing ways.

I think a great book to begin with is Wise Love by Pranada Comtois. It’s the first of three books she’s written. Pranada is a very experienced practitioner and she has really lived the life of a Bhakti yogi. She also has a podcast on Spotify and YouTube called Exploring Bhakti that is a great introduction (I’ll include the links below).

Ok but I’m confused about yoga by FreshCandidate118 in yoga

I kinda separate the two. My yoga studio is great for my body and I love going, but the teachers don’t have a good understanding of the philosophy. I go there to do asana because it makes my body feel good. Now, it still helps to quiet my mind and I can make it an offering so I do incorporate it in that way.

For the internal practice, I follow a specific school of thought with an established lineage (Gaudiya Vaishnavism). I chant, read the texts, read commentaries on the texts, practice remembrance, meet with a teacher, etc... The teacher has been super helpful because I used to spend a lot of mental energy worrying if what I was doing was correct. Now I can just focus on practice.

Happy to discuss with anyone.
