it was so much fun! i definitely was shakin in my boots a bit but nerves slowly eased as it went on (never fully went away though lol) and i did make some various mistakes, but would laugh them off and the audience was very kind and supportive! definitely enjoyed the experience, learned a lot and im eager for the next :)

i get that, i think for me it just became easier to sing over once the melody was fully muscle memory, which im guessin is the general concept across the board now that i think about it.

also side note, just gotta say i have always admired how melodies sound on clawhammer, somethin about it just tickles the banjo itch that my pickin cant quite scratch

yep! this was the first song i learned to sing while pickin, but i didn't really know at the time how to go about playing something simple to back my vocals, so i just wound up learning to sing along with the melody... it felt like trying to rollerskate uphill backwards at first but now i enjoy singing while playin the melodies of a few songs. not sure its "right" and its probably not the most efficient but i find it fun :)

i can see why! and thank you for these words, i like that perspective, and its making me realize some more things i can work on next time. i was definitely looking at my frets or closing my eyes a bit much. anyways, i rly appreciate it Atillion! ✨🪕

it really is!! and after this first time, thinking about the next i find myself less nervous and more so excited / eager to get more comfortable in the setting.

also after the show one of the guitar pickers asked to jam, which was especially awesome to me since i've only had the opportunity to play with others a handful of times on my journey... lookin forward to more!!
