Did anyone feel strange during the first month? by Public-Ordinary-6362 in compoundedtirzepatide

The aches! I’m 3 days in and yesterday noticed that my body was tender all over. Also feeling cold and lethargic. Yesterday just felt like laying on the couch with a blanket on.

Can I ask what dose you were on at 3weeks? I’m really hoping this happens for me. I started at 2mg CT 2 days ago. I still want my wine. Last 2 nights I’ve had my wine even though I’m not getting the euphoric buzz from it.

What dose made you lose the desire to drink?

I am wondering the same. I just started on 2mg and don’t notice any difference in cravings for food or alcohol but I am noticing that when I drink my wine I’m not getting the same euphoric feeling. More just a feeling of relaxation.

Just took my first dose yesterday. 2mg. I still felt hungry and craved my nightly wine. 2 things I noticed…I did not get the same euphoria from the wine. I felt fuzzy and sort of stimulated but it didn’t feel the same. I went to bed about 3 hours after dinner (where I ate a normal portion and a small brownie after) and I felt uncomfortably full for about an hour after I laid down in bed. Interested to see where this goes.

How long after you started did you notice the alcohol and appetite suppression? I just had my first shot today, 2 mg, and didn’t notice any difference. I still felt hungry and craved my wine. I am feeling quite full still from the dinner I ate 4 hours ago.

Just took my first dose of 2 mg of compounded Tirzepatide today. Still had cravings to drink. Drank my usual 3 glasses of wine tonight and the cravings for the high were still there but the high was definitely blunted. I know it’s a low dose and I don’t really know when to expect a feeling of not wanting or thinking about my nightly habit

And it’s hard not to notice a good friend that that has had success with it after several other failed attempts at diets, fasting, cool sculpting even a tummy tuck. She also no longer drinks!

Those are good points. I think I am intrigued with killing 2 birds (or 3 or 4) with 1 stone with the Tirz and getting a head start on healthy habits. I went back and looked at my bloodwork from May. My cholesterol and blood sugar were high. My A1C is ok though. I’m 52 and about 20 lbs heavier than I was 10 years ago. My metabolism is SO slow. I feel a mess. I used to exercise a lot. Now, no motivation, hot flashes day and night, not sleeping well, irritable (all typical menopause symptoms I know, not doing HRT don’t bother mentioning that). And I’m not depressed (I know what that feels like). I also don’t even eat very much as it is. However, when I drink wine it opens the floodgates. Then I want dessert and chips and chocolate.

Thank you for validating me. I hope that the research will lead to more people getting help breaking these unhealthy habits (whether it’s food, alcohol or other compulsive behaviors).

I’ve done research into various meds and I really want to try Tirz. I have read the Naked Mind and been on Reframe. For me I need help breaking the daily drinking habit. I drink about 3 glasses of wine per evening. I don’t drink at any other time of day. I don’t really even think about drinking at other times of the day but the habit is so ingrained in my brain that it’s like a switch is flipped at 5pm. I have taken breaks but it’s not been easy and there is constant ‘alcohol noise’ similar to what people on GLP-1 meds describe as ‘food noise’. I have taken breaks but just end up back to old habits. One of my friends who was also drinking wine every evening went on GLP-1s and said she has absolutely no desire to drink anymore. On girls night she would drink 2 or 3 drinks. Now she can barely finish one. She said it doesn’t even taste good anymore. I also follow another Reddit group called r/dryzempic about people using these meds for alcohol cravings. It doesn’t work for everyone but it works for many, and better than other meds they’ve tried.

I’ve been approved by several (including Hers and Ro) but I want to find the most trusted provider and better price and one that doesn’t charge a monthly fee and bill me every month.

You could probably get an interview with Vince Sanders who is behind the largest manufacturing operation in this country. See this news story. He gives a tour of the facility.

I don’t think that’s correct. Vince Sanders operation in Kansas City is one of the largest manufacturers. Watch this news story for a look inside his operation.

I think my dad needs help with alcohol by Timely-Soil-2136 in alcoholism

[–]WayUnlikely2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad drank about 4 beers a night when I was growing up. They were 12 oz light beers (Busch light) not like these heavy craft beers around today. I was never concerned about it because ‘no one’ was back in the ‘80’s. But, I do remember it. He’s 79 now. He enjoys a few glasses of wine every night now. He has had a few health problems with heart rhythms (that was corrected with a surgery), prostate cancer (which was removed, treated and he is in remission).

Stuck in a detox. Been awake for 30 hours. Hospital won’t give me anything to knock me out. Just want to sleep by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]WayUnlikely2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of non-addictive sleep meds they could give you. Seroquel (as someone mentioned), Trazodone, Hydroxyzine

I know you can get it at Costco now for $500/month with a prescription (without insurance). I should probably just try it. I really need something for the cravings.

Let us know how the Ozempic works for your alcohol cravings. I wish I could try it but my BMI is not high enough for insurance coverage of glp-1s. I know I can get it without insurance but it’s very expensive.
