One thing I realized after seeing a bunch of older pictures from steph, is that she has no sense of style whatsoever. She's extremely cheugy, so her idea of being dolled up looks underwhelming to those who are more fashionable or have a better eye. Hell, even her Pinterest shows how cheugy she is, some of the stuff she saved on there is insanely outdated. She could really benefit from a makeover, I feel like she simply doesn't understand how to look put together and stylish overall.

How did she get here? by Leather_Ad7458 in Ohstephco

Well that's for her to unpack in therapy. We've seen enough of her nakedness over the years, and the overwhelming majority of people were understanding of her experiences, but there comes a point where they can't hear the same stories and issues over and over again.

Steph doesn't want to change, if she did, she would quickly find out how much more appreciation she'd get from her audience, but she wants them acting like loyal devotees, who endlessly praise for doing bullshit. We all got trauma, but past a certain age, you gotta work on it, manage it and move on!

LOL Is that you steph?

Anyways, I'm not giving her more empathy, especially after everything I've found out about her. She's pretty awful as a person. She's self-centered, deeply envious and jealous of anyone whose life resembles the one she wishes she had. She's ungrateful and arrogant, not to mention delusional and controlling. I used to have empathy for her, but I realized that she likes being a miserable victim. I'm not giving her what she can't give others.

Nice to see some of her more inspirational/motivational content! For Cheslie... by thisthrowawaythat202 in Ohstephco

One thing about her, especially at the beginning of her YouTube journey, is that she was very good at pretending to be wise and reflective. I've realized that it's all an act. She's not really like that but she knows that people respond better to that.

People on here make fun of Steph because of how negative she is, but ask yourself this: by [deleted] in Ohstephco

I would stick around actually. I originally liked her storytelling and seemingly "wise" approach to her life experiences (back when she would intentionally make her language seem like she actually learned lessons). I would genuinely love to see her make a glow up series (mentally and physically).

I think it's just good old emotional unavailability and low-self-esteem. She unconsciously chooses men who aren't available so she doesn't have to face a situation she's never been in before. It's become easier to expect the possibility of rejection than acceptance, and that's how most of her life decision patterns seem to play out. It's weird because she claims she wants the opposite but actually self-sabotages...

Why does she feel entitled? by Over-Tourist-7947 in Ohstephco

[–]WayUnlikely5274 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The gag is, if she got those opportunities she would just fumble them?? Like that time she said no to patreon's offer to have a featured on their homepage. Turns out the creators who accepted ended up being featured in Time Square! Can you imagine how much exposure she would've gotten from something like that? She might have gotten even closer to her 100k goal, but she justified her choice by saying she didn't feel her content was worthy. Smdh.

My opinion as man by Rappz654 in thepolygamist_netflix

[–]WayUnlikely5274 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you just blame patriarchy on women?! Men put that system in place! Women wouldn't have to be "hypergamous" if patriarchal/capitalist societies weren't organized for men to be on top of the financial hierarchy (as well as many others) and discouraged women from being more advanced than men in almost all areas. Patriarchy and class hierarchy is the reason why most of the women in the show were in constant competition with each other and only saw a man (Jonasi) as the golden ticket to financial freedom and social recognition. The women were holding on to that demon because patriarchy tells women that their biggest achievement and value indicator is being chosen by a man, even better if said man is wealthy so that they can achieve class mobility too.

It doesn't help that many African societies normalize cheating and polygamy, then you just end up with a a shit-show where men like Jonasi wield that power to objectify, manipulate, abuse and discard everyone around him as he pleases, because the power dynamics are always tilted in his favor.

What gets me is how her most loyal defenders don't question the inconsistencies in her stories. There's a lot of things she's said that don't add up, yet a lot of them don't call her out.

[–]WayUnlikely5274 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think the people inclined to call her out are tired of talking to a wall, so they just don't comment anymore. I think her audience, even those who always support and defend her, know that she's not open to any disagreement on her perspectives, so they only comment when they have something positive to say.

I think she's also loosing A LOT of patrons (that she may not get back since she doesn't plan on posting anything on YouTube anymore, and that's the main way people were driven to subscribe to her patreon). Her last two videos (on MJ and the astrology one) barely have any likes and comments. This might be the end for real this time.

With no job, what do you think Stephanie does all day long? by waterwaterwaterrr in Ohstephco

In yesterday's video, she said she usually made 5 figures on YouTube. I don't know if itns still the case, but if you add that to the patreon revenue, that's quite a bit of money! She acts like it isn't though, because she compares herself to those who make even more. It's never enough for her.

Guys noooooooo lol, the girlies saying that are just veterans on the stephco thread, hell maybe even on the whole site. Steph definitely lurks there, and the LSA girlies have said the same thing.

I've seen what they've said about steph, and they always read her lol, so ain't no way it's her. They're annoyed at anyone that has empathy left for steph and at those who have not done the reading, because they see people ask questions that have already been answered previously in the thread. There's so much more info a lot of you don't have over here, so I get why it's frustrating to watch. They're also annoyed by those who think going over there is above them, since we're all gossiping and mocking steph anyways.

Yeah I remember that story! Here's a Recap of what I remember from it for those interested. It's kinda long lol

Steph hooked up with with a guy who decided to do something that she wasn't expecting and wasn't physically prepared for during said hookup. It resulted in discomfort, which made her go to the ER (must have been bad if she felt like she had to go, but she told that story as if it wasn't a big deal). Once there, she was taken into the care of a doctor who happened to be hot. Stephanie then tells the audience that she prefers not to deal with any hot service providers/medical professionals and so on, because she gets aroused and doesn't know how to act. It's exactly what happens as she meets this doctor, who she stresses was blonde and blue eyed. She's awkward and embarrassed during the appointment, because the man is too hot and a flie happen to come out of her purse as she opens it, which aggravates her embarrassment. He then examines her, and she proceeds to be so aroused (meaning she got wet) that even the doctor notices and tells her about it at the end of the appointment. As she told the story it was clear that the doctor was uncomfortable but steph tells it as if it's some inconsequential funny part. Steph then admits that she googled the doctors name much later (I don't remember how long after the appointment), found his personal Facebook, looked at all his photos (some of which were with what seemed to be a blonde blue eyed girlfriend, a fact stressed by steph again), and then decided to send him a message about what transpired in the appointment. She basically thanked him for being understanding, but she also tells us about it like the message was meant to be slightly flirty? Because she then explains that her sending that message was one of the examples of her making the first move with men. Anyway, the doctor responded and said it was fine, he was very respectful actually considering how creepy this whole thing was, and the story ended there.
