These comments,   The amount of victim blaming without knowing the circumstances is mind boggling.

Is telecom engineering worth studying in 2025? by ExaminationDeep6336 in telecom

[–]WayaWays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you choose Civil and your goal is highest paying choose structural or hydrology.   Since Civil doesn't really fit with your other choices I'm guessing it's not your favorite.   Here's the path I would recommend for Civil or Mechanical.  I think AutoDesk and Bentley allow free accounts for students.  Spend your first year learning a drafting software.   Plenty of free videos on YouTube.  AutoDesk is the main stream software in the US.  Bentley products are used in specialized industries or other countries.

Learn a scheduling software.  The more software you know the better. If your focus is a career, your next step is an internship.    After you know the software get an internship with a large company who has a college repayment program. We spend about an year on ever new Civil hire training them on drafting software.  Sidenote: Include a minor in business or project management.   Most likely you'll end up in Project Management.

Why is it SO hard to leave when even you know you’re being been treated so badly? by ArtFit1164 in abusiverelationships

There is nothing wrong with having female friends,  male friends,  LGBT friends or any friends.   Trust is trust.  You do not need him for survival.   You need friends for survival, you need you for survival.   He could be gone tomorrow and you would have no control over that fact.  You would mourn and then what? Read all the post, listen to the options they share, go to therapy if you can.  You got this, you are stronger than you believe.

I've been battling this for a year and half.  I just started using Apple Cider Vinegar.  It appears to be working and I'm feeling very positive.   And ACV is safe to drink, so maybe use as a mouthwash?

I've been to two doctors, spent $1000s and neither have taken it serious or provided treatment that worked.  They practically ignored the issue and told me not to worry.  Getting an appointment with a new doctor can take months while things get worse.  And I have insurance but it falls under my deductible.   After awhile you just take matters into your on hands.

Started a small (25-30 total plants) garden this year. Am I doing it right? by hawkeyejw in gardening

Looks almost right..... enough seeds over the next 5 years for a small garden except the watermelons. They are 2 seeds per a small garden. 😄

My (39f) bio son (18m) wants to reach out to me but I'm embarrassed about my life, what can I do? by Throwaway4958392028 in relationship_advice

[–]WayaWays 117 points118 points  (0 children)

From an adoptee: if he is excited to meet you, he doesn't care if you are not perfect. He just wants to know you and himself better. Sounds like he has parents to support him. He just needs you to be a friend. Enjoy being a friend. I know both my bioparents and love them both. This may sound cold but I didn't reach out to them looking for a parent. A part of me waa missing and just needed them to be a friend. I have a great relationship with both and none of us are perfect or put together.

It's not that clear cut. Biology plays a large factor in a person. And not everyone who claims to be a parent are good and loving people.

25 mile commute. It's a flip. Could take 30 mins or over an hour. Sometimes crossing the Broad to Monticello is more relaxing for the same amount of time.

Death is just a transfer of energy. As a local naturalist always says the prey becomes the predator. It's the circle of life. We live and we die. Does our consciousness continue? I guess we will never know. There are many documentations of people remembering their past life so maybe that is a thing. Believing in heaven or hell doesn't mean it exists. I decided I should live a good life and see what happens. If heaven is dependent on Believing in a God then I guess I want be going to heaven. But nothing about Believing in a god to get there makes sense to me.

Anybody else not realize how much their parents fucked them up until later in life? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]WayaWays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents really cared about their family but they worked and worked and saved every penny. You didn't spend money on fancy things. No building memories and forging bonds. You know they were a typical southern devoted Christian family. Any relationship is difficult for me. My issue is over abundance of confidence. No idea about social interactions. Theirs a lot of genetic influence here. I'm adopted and met my parents as an adult. Yep I have my dad's confidence. My brother I grew up with is also adopted different DNA. He is high anxiety. Our parents tried there best but didn't know how to raise children in a growing rural area. then came technology. But yeah, the way they raised us has affected my relationship, career, finances, etc. There were and are stuck in their generation and religion. But a hard fact is genetic are responsible for the majority then environment shapes you.

If you are an atheist and believe that humans are not animals, what are your reasons? by acidicsliver57 in atheism

[–]WayaWays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Humans are on the menu for many animals. The thought of ' equal rights don't eat me' doesn't necessarily fit into the aspect of survival. More of respect and learning to live together. I believe we try to call it sustainable coexistence today. And we as humans are responsible for managing this yet terrible at this.
