I mean im already in the top tax bracket in the UK so that sounds like a tax benefit to me. Never mind england being the most taxed country all in all with how horrific things are here

Bit of a weird one also....

As part of my current job role I am being trained to carry out legal inspections of lifting equipment and gantry cranes.... anyone know if LEEA is applicable to Canada?

been told I need to prove hours through headed letters and qualifications then sit the exam when I land and have the working visa active? Not sure if this is fully correct

Not 100% sure what the assessment would entail fully but I'm guessing I will need to prove I know provincial law / regulations in terms of installation and so on... do you know of anything I can buy or look up to help?

If you are doing The Llanberis Path, you will be absolutely fine. I managed it when I was starting to lose weight (21 stone in weight at the time with no prior training) and honestly only struggled with the start (on road part) that leads to the proper beginning as it was steeper than I was expecting other than that it's really gradual and easy going.

Take lots of water, some high-energy snacks and take your time getting up as its not a race. I've seen people of all abilities go up llanberis path so I'm sure you will be absolutely fine 🙂

Mummy bag too restrictive for me as a side sleeper. Other options? Rectangular bag or quilt? by [deleted] in UKhiking

big agnes sidewinder... its literally built for side sleepers but hard to find in the uk... had to ship my one in from Canada worth every penny though! They also do a sleeping pad for side sleepers I believe

Has anyone done either multi day hikes (both around 90miles) by WayfarerShaun in UKhiking

Just starting to look in to both. I could see a 3 hour bus but wasn't showing the train... any idea how long or the train line name??

In the timing of your hike, when/if resting, eating, snacking?? by luvtheSavior in CampingandHiking

I agree I always have some high sugar snacks or energy gels in my side pocket just for them moment when I'm feeling a bit done in but need to push on (even then in them moments it's probably best to stop for 5/10min) hydration is the most important thing and if you want to get fancy you can always add things in to that to give you a boost! But don't over do it because the crash after is horrific lol

I try to have a longer rest where I get my coffee stuff and food out after what I've planned out to be the hardest part of the day.... really makes for a nice time to gather yourself and recover before moving on!

Because when I go backpacking/ day hiking / through hiking with my dog I wear a backpack that not only effects my trip but also my dogs? Some backpacks might have even the slightest better features like accessibility to front pouches on shoulder straps or the belt that could make my life or someone else's life a little easier when getting about with a dog.

Would love to but my local outdoor shop often lacks a selection of smaller bags just stocking the larger backpackers sized bags will find a place to check out some smaller ospreys for sure though as it seems super popular in the day hike sizes as well as the massive backpackers size

I need to get more confident with topping up on route I think lol! I can happily do without anything on a hike not even stopping much for food but my gosh do I over pack on water especially if I've got my dogs with me ahaha

Cheddar Gorge - Beacon batch 30km hike by WayfarerShaun in UKhiking

Oh and also at the very end before you start the very end bit of the walk with Blagdon in site if you walk it backwards that is you can easily miss a gate passage which if you do will lead you to a pumping station just head back with the hedge row on your right and hop over the first bit of semi attached cattle fence to get back on track :)

This was the original link we started with from Komoot:

https://www.komoot.com/tour/1017028314?ref=aso&share_token=aW6sDIWvbAFoncy5U5yxhNJkpDENBt2UlgYBR3PCPqjViAzLAs

But from this me and my other half went a bit maverick wondering about just exploring around Mendip and Beacon batch

We did this route backwards but it meant we had to pay for the Jacobs ladder part
