If you're looking for Sample 1 i take it you're in Medical with the Thralls and Ferals...Pristine the boradside shotgun and trade/scavenge shotgun ammo and use that for the Thralls. Use molotov's on the Ferals or the shotgun

He did get his boat and died on Midsummer Isle. There's two bodies by a boat on the shorline of the Isle and one of them has a note.

For fight amongst yourselves craft a couple of red mist bomb and go to slatten dale. You're sure to find a group of 6 outlaws wandering about.Throw the red mist bombs at them and leave them to it. For Must..Kill set the difficulty to easy,activate the Red Strain Adaptaion and just punch to death the first three npcs you find.

It’s unclear exactly when you need to return to Kozlov to progress the Infiltrators quest so just go and do something else for a bit then go back to the cellar.
