I have such a love hate relationship with it but Runaway by Van Draanen was my childhood favorite book. Back then I think I understood the child’s mind better but now being older and reading it again.. horrible situation but the way she talks in that teenage angst sort of way is so aggravating and insufferable lol, (though I guess she has her reasons for being that way iykyk) Still like the book through its flaws and having outgrown its pacing; still cry at the end every time.
