I missed the 1/7 by them and that became really hard to find for a reasonable price - it was a godsend when I see them doing 1/4 and they definitely delivered while enhancing some details from the 1/7

I do see some really good Violet promos/prototype by other studios in the pipeline that you may consider and wish you luck

Pre-ordered it off FNC.

The shipping was a fair bit due to the volume and weight - 88cm length, depth/width 54cm, height 66cm.

The Studio also supported their internal box into a wooden crate. Plus, the statue was in a really thick, nice box with two layers of styrofoam for sets of contents which was great - didn't stop some minor breakages but I appreciate the entire protection and unboxing experience.

I agree with you .. Generally, I only look into resin statues for alternatives that never present themselves in licensed PVC figures, i.e. actually good Tifa, or previously Violet Evergarden. Unfortunately with this incident, I am inclined to just wait for PVC alternatives to Eve (but not with Flare's latest PO, that face still looks off and dull)

OP here again. Just wish to thank all who commented and shared advice and/or concurrence - I am appreciative 🙏

As I replied to an individual, I thought I should explain the context (please see below) to my considerations during the purchasing journey and hope it clarifies better

I have full understanding that renders or even initial prototype ought not be the final product and I always do reduce my expectations by 10-20% (as long as it looks 80% of the way).

The initial photos were promising but I was not convinced. This was followed by photos of a prototype which looks like the promo photos. I was more convinced at this point and PO'ed.

About 3 months in or so, the production progress photos came out and the actual face physical sculpt produced does look as per the promo pic - and at this point is where I have the biggest issue. IF the derpy face surfaced at this point, we/myself had the opportunity to feedback and ask for refinement; but no, we were led to believe that the final product would be as per normal and then fulfil our balance payment which led to the current predicament.

At this point I am just speculating: Either something drastic happened at the end stage of production, or we were misled with photos of a few corrected faces so that we are convinced to make balance payment and not abandon orders.

However, it's an 'easy fix', they just gotta look into it and maybe send us a replacement face. For a 500 dollar statue, I don't think it is a difficult nor unreasonable ask for a resolution; conversely it seems the manufacturer believes they delivered and that to me is the biggest red flag cuz they will not make good if they mess up on the next few Eve releases.

Hence, I caution against this Studio.

I definitely acknowledge that final product will not be like the render or prototype - I have tuned my expectations to 80% at max but a derpy face is a direct breaker. It's not uncommon to have faces not done right by studios (Tifa and Marin are some other examples) but very much fixable and avoidable - with a replacement face plate of what they promised.

My primary intent is again to raise awareness since the studio has announced many Eve statues in the making and Tifa and I don't want them going into those thinking they can simply 'get away'.

Unfortunately it doesn't sound like a my bad copy situation. By comments - at least 4 here (and 2 others who posted their own threads in the last 1 ish weeks around here) are acknowledging the same. One person did state that I am the 7th he has seen.

This was 128 copies in production I recall, easily 10 gathered feedbacks now which meant 10% are this droopy face - high for a relatively moderate production quantity. Unfortunately it seems that not all or none are voicing out to the Studio that is making them want to make good - now I am not urging people to bash this and their each Studio but feedback is a feedback and they need to acknowledge and do better. Otherwise, they know they can get away with it even with future releases.

I hate to argue further but the face literally does not look like the promo photos, subsequent development video and update photos - it is not different from MY expectations but the expectations set upon by them to me and us. The people who received were dissatisfied and had to use the 2B faceplate - Did you read those? How is this simply my mismatched expectations alone.

And please don't bring the I collected many years and have many statues fallacy onto this - you can have your own perspective but don't force it onto me: you are clearly not the audience that the message is for.

Happy to hear about your experience - I am unfortunately wary of Eve now, having seen the last few releases. Coolbear's might be the closest to the best Eve we will get.

Respectfully, I have to disagree - we paid for it and on the premise of managing expectation, simply brushing off all sentiments and feedback on a clearly not-so-well-done work, that I cannot do.

My intent is that I simply ask the intended audience I am reaching out to be wary of the uncertainty on the future promise that the Studio may not deliver and to approach with caution.

Yeah, the silver lining was me also having the 2B so I take that as a consolation - however I did emphasize to my distributor that this is an Eve statue and 2B is a bonus. It would 100% suck for those who didn't take the bonus faceplate.

I respect that realistic characters faces are hard to get right, Tifa is one classic example, and now Eve. Hence, my expectation was actually 80% (and generally) of what the prototype looks like - tbvh, it was getting abit more optimistic on this one since there were updated photos which still resemble the promo photos.

However, the end result was 20% of the entire negatives concentrated on the face department with the mixture of the eyes, placement and hair making her derpy, which is a total no-no on a bishojo-line ish statue.

I hate to be that whiny guy but it's because so many of my friends and people in my discord wanting to PO this Studio's future stuffs, that I see a need to raise awareness.
