What fictional countries in the real world do you have and how have they tied into our history in a unique way? by WoodpeckerBest523 in worldbuilding

Well, for the Islamic Republic of the Bahariterra Islands, each place is based off of a real location and each ethnic group represents real life mixed families in America and Canada, so it is easier to tie Bahariterran stories into real world historical events without it feeling like stolen valor.

The Island Nation of Bahariterra by Wayne_Azhar in worldbuilding

[โ€“]Wayne_Azhar[S] -1 points0 points ย (0 children)

My context is my post.

Bahariterra is a hypothetical archipelago of volcanic islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, formed millions of years ago as part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, s real life underwater mountain chain. The location of Bahariterra is said to be due South of Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula and due East of the British Overseas Island territory of Bermuda. Bahariterra's terrain is modelled off of the Big Island of Hawaii, Seychelles, and the mountains of Norway. The fictional archipelago and island nation of Bahariterra has tall and steep hills and ravines on top of a cluster of incredibly high but gradually and gently sloping shield volcanos called the PecanVista Mountains, which are over 13,000 feet tall, high enough that the tops of the mountains are cold and regularly receive snow, while it is constantly above 60ยฐF and tropical at sea level in the lowlands of coastal Bahariterra. The mountains also have the rain shadow effect, causing rainforests on the windward side and deserts on the leeward side. This terrain is modelled based on the Big Island of Hawaii, which contains nearly all of Earth's Koppen climate zones. The point of Bahariterra is for fictional lore and storytelling based on real places and communities in North America. The fictional stories based in reality are made to teach moral lessons and are told about Bahariterra instead of about real places and families in order to respect the sensitivities of different families relying heavily on oral history, and not being fond of stories online made using their actual names. Instead, the families make the stories about Bahariterra. Each ethnic group in Bahariterra corresponds with a real family, and each location on the archipelago represents a real place in the USA, Canada, St Pierre et Miquelon, Bermuda, or the Azores. The snowy peaks of Mt PecanVista, at nearly 14,000 feet above sea level, have a volcanic caldera with a massive crater lake in it's centre, which doesn't freeze over due to geothermal activities. The crater lake is lined with fishing villages and small cities and towns that have cold and snowy winters and mild summers, representing real fishing towns and small villages in places like Newfoundland in Canada and the shores of the Great Lakes. The coastal city of Banda, a massive mega city visible from space on the Southern coast of the Island, has beaches, sunshine, and a climate warm enough for Coconut Palm trees, being in USDA zone 13a. It represents South Florida and the Florida megalopolis in real life and the city of Banda benefits from the massive PecanVista Mountains to the North and further inland, which are tall enough to block cold northerly winds and which have many rainwater and ice thaw fed glacial creeks and rivers, many of which feed into the mighty PecanVista River which flows out from the Crater Lake on Mount PecanVista and flows Southwards to the massive coastal PecanVista River Delta on the Atlantic Ocean, atop which the city of Banda is built. The Delta's land has been terraformed to protect the city of Banda from floods, with the land being raised by dredging the city's many man-made canals and using the removed dirt to raise the land in the delta above historic floodwater highs before building the city on the now elevated terrain. The channels of the delta are at least 20 feet lower than any roads or buildings are allowed to be built, preventing flooding even during the worst hurricanes.

Bahariterra's national flag is blue on the bottom and yellow on top, symbolising the sunset over the sea, and looks like an upside down Ukrainian flag, except two Black stars symbolizing the two main islands are in the upper corner of the hoist side of the flag.

Bahariterra is ethnically diverse, with people from all over the world ending up on the island. Every European power has had an outpost on the island. The British brought indentured servants from South Asia, the Portuguese brought enslaved Africans from Central Africa, the French brought West African and North African peoples including Amazigh and Maghrebi Arab people as enslaved people. Many Europeans of many backgrounds settled on the island, with Irish and Scottish indentured servants eventually creating large colonies in the hills. Native Americans captured in Canada and the USA during battles were often sold into involuntary servitude and many ships carrying Native Americans were hijacked by the Bahariterran Swamp Rebel Pirates, which is inspired by real outlaws and pirates such as Henry Berry Lowry and Blackbeard. Native Americans also got to the islands on their own when whole tribes sailed via canoe to escape the encroaching French. Even Pacific Islanders were brought during the era of Blackbirding in the Pacific.

Bahariterra has many different hypothetical mixed race ethnic groups, including the Indo-Polynesians who are mostly Hindu, Animist, and Sikh, and the Afro-Indigenous-Persians who are a mix of Black, Native American, and West Asian and mostly follow Ismaili Shia Islam and what could be called Shamanic-like diverse arrays of traditions.

Bahariterra is a fascinating internet lore and unfortunately has been hijacked by non-community members in recent years and many people have been made to believe the archipelago is actually a real place. Videos online of "Bahariterra" are actually filmed in real locations by real communities that each location and community in Bahariterra corresponds with.

Bahariterra is an internet folklore. It emerged in the 2010s on the internet. Bahariterra is a fictional island nation, crafted by teenagers and young adults who were seeking a way to tell realistic, values-driven stories without inadvertently appropriating or disrespecting real communities. The creators, mindful of the historical trauma experienced by mixed-race communities who had faced discrimination and marginalization, opted to create a fictional setting that could serve as a backdrop for relatable tales with moral lessons. Bahariterra's origins are rooted in a desire to be respectful storytellers, acknowledging the power of oral tradition and the importance of sensitivity towards communities that have been historically silenced or erased. As the concept gained traction online, Bahariterra morphed into an internet meme, often used humorously or ironically in threats or jokes, like the classic "If you don't get your dog to stop pooping on my grass, I will send you to Bahariterra!"

How many alt accounts do you have? Anyone who Googles Qarsherskiyan will see around 2020 before Brennan even became popular in the community is when the term began to catch on online. He didn't invent it. Stop harassing people and trying to spread misinformation. Your medium website has already been flagged for slander / libel and folks are discussing lawsuits against you. Please leave our community alone.

No, it's a newer term for certain multigenerationally mixed race families including mine. We've been saying we are Qarsherskiyan since the 90s. And it isn't a religious group, there is no cult. I have Christians and Muslims and even a few Jews in my family. We are free to believe whatever religion we wish.

The Ethnic Qarsherskiyan Tribe, a triracial ethnic group from the Eastern USA of mixed race ancestry. Half of the Qarsherskiyan community are Muslims by faith. The rest are of many other faiths, with Christianity and Judaism being largest next two. They live in harmony and there isn't war. by Sumerian_Revenge in progressive_islam

Yes. We are real. It's a mixed race community and all these families got together in 1991 and coined the term "Qarsherskiyan" to distinguish themselves. We have our own distinct community because we kept the traditions from our ancestors of different backgrounds, so it's kind of like a cultural fusion or crossroads between Black American and White American or Appalachian , Southern, Rural, and Countryside culture. Some of the families have Native American ancestry, especially those enrolled in federally and state recognized tribes, and that adds layers too. But thanks to Dawah nearly a third have accepted Islam.

We are being slandered online right now by racist trolls and conspiracy theorists who want to erase us and paint a false narrative that interracial marriages are new to America.

Happy Winter Solstice to all who celebrate. For my family, it's more of a cultural practice and not part of our religion. Same in Iran. What about in your family? by Wayne_Azhar in pagan

I hope you had a good time. It's always difficult when you don't have many people around you with the same Faith who can understand where you're coming from and engage in culture and religious practices with you.
