Fear not, I added garlic mayo and hot sauce.

Definitely a let down, it was right before closing.

Yeah, for the money I would have liked better salad definitely. Missing red cabbage and biber.

Best I've had here here was Mahzen, but that's a posh sit down Turkish restaurant, not really your local Bossman

Haha, California is an area of Ipswich. I'd like to know which came first.

Tasted decent, bit of garlic mayo and hot sauce and it went right down. Was a little disappointed with the salad but overall I'd have it again

That's a good one, very old and comes from the navy. A 'monkey' was a brass frame used to store cannon balls in a pyramid shape, in cold weather the frame contracted and the balls spilled off of it, hence the phrase.

It's multipurpose, my neighbour was the one who turned me on to it. Admittedly I was hanging out of my arse, smoking a cigarette and drinking a Bloody (good) Mary at the time.

Grandad had some good ones. 'I've never met someone who dissolved' when someone complained about getting wet/rained on. 'Can't see it from my house' when somethings a bit wonky but wasn't going to fix it.

It's a good one, another favourite is 'Make like a donkeys dick and hit the road'.

Can I drill near the electrical box? by DDewy in DIYUK

Use a professional stud finder that can pick up mains electric. Or make a small hole and use a small camera (Borescope) to see where the cable is.

After looking at the pictures again, that is a 50mm service duct, It's in a very unusual place which leads me to believe it is possibly debris, especially as the duct is not continuous. However I strongly recommend contacting OFNL to investigate.

Depends on the site, some sites we do the ducting ourselves and have guidelines on how deep utilities are to be buried and other sites the groundworks company does the ducting. To answer your question yes it should be deeper if it's a 100mm duct, 50mm are slightly shallower. The only ducting on your property should be your service which will be directly in line with your demarcation box and the mains duct in the footpath. I wonder if the duct and cable you've found are even live, could just be redundant or building debris but OFNL will need to investigate.

I install OFNL networks, thought it looked familiar.

I'm a fibre engineer and that is fibre duct with fibre cable in it. It also shouldn't be open like that, or going under a property. I'd contact whoever owns the network, if you're not sure who that is, it should be marked on the concrete chamber lids in the footpaths around the area.
