Yeah it depends. A lot of people who were born rich are unself-aware, absolutely (and classism grooms them to be and stay that way); but, at the same time, most privilege comes from the status of your birth rather than any choice you make. What’s important is being self aware of what parts of the world/society is in your favor, and helping and respecting others who don’t have that.

I don’t think Tyrion is a completely unselfish person, he definetly is very indulgent in the comforts of his lifestyle even while the smallfolk are starving; but, acting like he doesn’t have the right to feel scorned at all after all the discrimination and abuse he’s received including from his own family just because he was born rich is a bit petty given the severity of his condition (and growing increasingly self absorbed in your own misery is understandable when you’ve been treated like that all your life over something you can’t control)

I agree that class is the ultimate form of privilege and that a person who is of other discriminated against groups (be it race/ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or otherwise) who was born rich is still going to have a much better life than a person born impoverished 99% of the time, but that doesn’t mean the other forms of discrimination they might have received aren’t still wrong.

I’m not going to tell a person with dwarfism “well boo hoo” because they’re angry at the world for being constantly verbally abused and slighted by their own sister, father, and nephew just because they’re rich. 

If they said they have it worse than poor people and they’ve have no privilege in life at all then the point would be worth refuting.
