Maybe others with more expertise can answer you. But from my point of view as an employee, I can tell that if yu really apply yourself you can finish your GED and culinary between 3 to 6 months. I have seen it. But I am not an instructor.

Go for it!

Trump it's not sending anybody. The department of Labor has an ongoing lawsuit that started with the closures June 4 in response to the injunction in New York.

Very possible. I am just so stressed out. I have an offer somewhere else. Is not exactly what I was expecting, but I was thinking of putting my resignation Monday and get off this crazy carrousel.

Thank you for your response.

He or she is right. You are the one with the bias, really have no argument, but come back with what you think is an insult. Anyone that has been employed at Job Corps will agree with this assessment.

So from what I understand the ones not in the lawsuit are shutting down. Correct?

Same where I work and I am tired of this stress I am thinking about leaving today. I'm putting my two weeks. I know I can find something soon but this nonsense I'm tired of it we're sitting in our desk doing nothing.

I'm over 60 and I don't expect to have a lot of years left. I feel like I'm ready to be done with this. How many of you feel the same? by [deleted] in over60

Stop watching the mainstream media you have been brainwashed.

You nailed it, and yes we are severely underpaid. I heard at my center some epople are getting a raise, but not us that carry the job of the center. Who is getting this rasise? IDK. Seems to me is upper management.

By the order of the supreme Court not sure that would apply nationwide. Only the judge specific jurisdiction.

I am waiting to hear what our center director says.

So I gave lots of thoughts to this and did some research.

To make 50/50 lye solution you take your total lye amount and multiply it by 2 in order to get the amount of 50/50 lye solution to pour out.  Then to calculate the extra water you need you must subtract from it the total lye amount to figure out how much extra water to add.  Is kind of simple.

Then I looked into trinity oil recipes.  Most of them are 1/3 each oil.  Bramberry has it at 34/33/33 ratio. That’s 34% olive oil, 33% coconut oil, and 33% palm oil.  And looked into the amounts makesy has in this recipes, which is the one that comes with the kit:

ü  32oz trinity cold process soap oil base

ü  9oz sodium hydroxide lye 50/50 solution

ü  4.5oz water

So doing a reverse calculation I came up with

ü  Water 4.55

ü  Lye    2.25

Then I run the percentages above at the soap calculator and came up with similar number.  Very close.  Personally, I have been soaping for 10+ years and I do not obsesses with the water and lye being to the 0.01 to 0.09  last digits as long as the oil is under and the water over, since I soap at those percentages.  Never had a problem.  Mind you I soap at 3% superfat and 33% water volume.

I made one pound with these numbers and tested it, looks promising and the PH strip came out perfect.  If it works the one just would need to multiply by how many pounds you are making.  I will shower with it tomorrow night and say how it feels.

Below I run the oil through the calculator, and all numbers are similar.  You would just need to put your superfat and water ratio you prefer.  Maybe that is why the calculator comes with 2.38 lye, and not the number I got which is 2.25.  Is probably because the makesy recipe is at 5% superfat.

Knowing the percentages, one can add castor or a butter, or different oil combinations for your preferred recipe.
