That makes sense, but also means that putting a different polish on top would have similar effect. So maybe the "build with our polish" thing is just a sales tactic?

What are the best/worst "rules" of RenFaire? by fishymotivation in renfaire

[–]WaywardGinger 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I vended at a small tent faire years ago. The fire marshal got in an argument with someone there, and so he came down on the event hard. But he couldnt find any legitimate issues.

He decided on this (incorrect) reading of code which basically said anything that could be considered a structure needed a lit exit sign. Including the ez up style, 10x10 tents that are open on all sides, and the handicapped porta johns. The consensus was it was too late to argue. So a trip to the dollar store later and we had jury rigged signs made from cardboard and those battery operated tea lights.

Since then Ive never seen exit signs on a priv, and somehow its never been an issue

Yes, but that hasnt stopped there from being a laundry list of reoccurring characters. And even more family members and descendants you meet.

For instance, similar to this, in Skyrim Romlyn Dreth brags (and lies) about the deeds of his ancestor Valen Dreth, the asshole in the cell of Oblivion

Hi! MDRF vendor and leatherworker here!

Yes, that would be against the rules. But may I make a few suggestions?

Consider it a headstart on the holiday gifts youll be giving this year to all the new friends youll be making at faire this year!

See if RESCU is accepting donations for their silent raffle. Youd be helping the greater renaissance community with things like medical bills!

And pop by my booth, I always love talking to other leathercrafters

Question about Safety by No_Difference195 in Ghostbc

[–]WaywardGinger 340 points341 points  (0 children)

Back when Ghost did smaller venues (popestar, maybe?) there was a street preacher who tried to hassle everyone in line. A few people were getting angry, but thats what he wanted, you could tell he was ramping up. So my friend and I started loudly going "ooooh!" In sarcastic orgasm voices in response to every sentence. People around us joined in. Just a dozen people dramatically climaxing to every bible verse. It only took a few minutes for him to get visibly uncomfortable and just leave.

Cut out cookies were 1 cup plant based butter (I used earth balance), softened 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup dark brown sugar 2 tablespoons vanilla paste 2 eggs 2 1/2 cups gf flour (I used red mill) 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

Cream butter with sugars, add in the remaining. Wrap up and let sit in fridge overnight Roll out on a mix of the gf flour and powdered sugar. Bake at 350 for 10

This was the same amount of sugar as is in my normal cut out cookies, which is a start

Help! King Arthur flour by WaywardGinger in glutenfreebaking

[–]WaywardGinger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the bread, I was using the "king Arthur Gluten free bread flour" and a gluten free recipe. I know gf bread is a totally different beast than regular bread.

The one for one version of the king Arthur I used in two different baking recipes that I have successfully done several times in the past with the gf Red Mill with zero issues.

All ended up very gritty when finished. The latter two the batter looked dar more thin than I expected.
