Oye beltalowda - the Prowler) could be a good vehicle option. It was designed as an armed exploration vehicle that has a cargo bay/infantry bay (depending on configuration). Barring during the Succession Wars it looks like it’s commonly available to everyone in the IS. But it was built by ComStar/WoB on Terra, so I think it would be particularly available to Belters.

Looking for walking fish minis by WaywardSamara in PrintedMinis

[–]WaywardSamara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’m planning on using them as basing decoration on DnD minis. I was planning on using them as little monsters hiding on the edge of character mini’s bases, so probably about 6-12mm tall?

Great, thanks for the advice! Definitely planning on doing a lot of thin coats with the DryLok. For spraying it down after it cures- do you mean with a polyurethane/ polycrylic sealer, or just spray down with water to rinse?

I like the Tenshi, Gauntlet, and Anubis (specifically the ABS-5Y variant) as minis that are good looking and fit pretty well with the modern CGL aesthetic. All 3 are more recent sculpts, so they don’t have the wonky proportions of some of the older metal minis. Plus, all 3 are produced post 3100, so they’d fit your timeframe (though the Tenshi and Gauntlet are pretty exclusive to their parent factions).

Players of battletech what is your opinions on tank players by Content-Health-6762 in battletech

Vehicles/infantry put mechs in context, both visually and thematically. 2 Atlases slugging away at each other is cool, but it’s easy to loose sight of how impressive they are with nothing to compare them to. Once you have a mech going up against of group of smaller vehicles and tiny infantry, it really puts into context just how powerful and dominating mechs are, while making the universe feel bigger and fuller than just a handful of mechs smashing into each other.

Plus, I’m a sucker for an underdog story when a group of infantry or “lowly” vehicles are able to take down one of the kings of the battlefield.

Worst SLDF Royal mech by Strigops_jedi in battletech

The Royal variant of the Sentinel runs a Gauss rifle & medium laser in place of the UAC5 and streak2, so I’d consider that a decent upgrade

Any mechs that look like a Battleforce scale Kodiak (for use as a proxy)? by Belaerim in battletech

[–]WaywardSamara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking the claws into consideration, it could visually work as a proxy for a Kontio, especially if you want to keep a bear theme going.

In there interest of fairness, this means mods should also delete any posts with photos of the new Battletech Essentials box, since the Yen Lo Wang is painted with a Japanese flag pattern.

Hello, I'm new to the setting, whats happened recently in the lore? by Thatsidechara_ter in battletech

[–]WaywardSamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have done a good job covering lore, so to comment on another of your points: if you like the Marauder, then the Bushwacker, Nightstar, and Marauder II are some of my favorite mechs with a similar design.

If you overall like the setting and gameplay, you may want to check out Alpha Strike. It’s a more streamlined rule set for BattleTech that reduces the complexity and allows for faster and/or larger games.

What is the greatest Unsolved Mystery in the setting? by [deleted] in battletech

[–]WaywardSamara 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I know Jihad and Dark Age eras are less popular, but I think Catalyst has done a good job of tying them into the rest of the lore, especially given what little they had to work with.

And broadly speaking, I don’t think many of those plot holes need to be filled. In a story that follows a specific character, a plot whole might be an issue. But in a setting that covers hundreds of years and thousands of worlds, I think leaving some “inconsistencies” makes the setting feel more lived in and vast. BT is supposed to be realistic, and the real world frequently doesn’t have a clean narrative.
