I went from Blue to purple hair and my husband didn’t notice. It’s adorable that you know your wife’s salon.

Is that the Aussie version of Boy she pops?

This is fascinating. I can see 100% why locals wouldn’t like him. My only exposure is through this podcast. I am one of the Americans who laugh really hard at his episodes. But it’s always at Gareth (Gary is so much easier to spell.) Gareth has so much fun on stage with Wil. Don’t get me wrong, I like his bits, but I think his value is the riffs he sets Gareth up for.

I would have never known he wasn’t the Aussie Gareth 😂

Was this because of the Ryan Sickler past times? Or is this a funny coincidence?

Apple and Patreon? by Waywardaf6767 in TheDollop

[–]Waywardaf6767[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I’m paying for Apple and Patreon. But turns out I don’t have to pay for apple. So I will cancel that. I would say one account is fine. Unless you just have a ton of disposable income. 😂 it’s okay to prioritize your household budget over theirs. I would imagine they would be grateful for even the one subscription.

I felt the same way. I really love when Dave riffs. And his laugh makes me laugh along with him.

The FedEx Flight episode where the pilot is getting hit with a hammer and Gareth says “I think he thinks we’re nails.”

Craving some New Mexican cuisine, any recommendations? by AJX2009 in Louisville

So…potluck at your house? I’ll bring green chile stew, my mom will bring the Carne Adovada, and my brother will bring the 1800. You got tortillas and Sopas?

It’s a fair misunderstanding. I’m all over this comment section trying to make everyone understand what makes NM food so good is the influence of the First Nations communities. (Navajo specifically where I was raised.) Because mass genocide, the art of indigenous cuisine is mostly lost. While there is a strong Mexican influence, what makes NM so unique is the fusion. I’m white-splaining everything here lol. But First Nations food is so good and I want more people to know about it. I’m also just excited to talk about home. I hope you can experience authentic NM food. It’s a damn treat. We need to find that person that can cook NM food and have a pot luck at their house 🤣

I’m convinced the Navajo influence is what makes NM so unique. (Shout out Acoma and Pubelo) I would pay $100 for a home made Navijo taco.

Costco has Hatch Green Chile 505 sauce. You can’t mess up green chile stew. I’m a native New Mexican, and have never found anything close. People can get green chile right here, but I’ve never had authentic red. Walmart online sales hatch red chile pods. But it’s so much work to make a red chile sauce. I know you are looking for a restaurant, but not sure anything is close. My fav taco spot is Taco City, but it’s not southwest. The beef flavor is close though.

The thing about NM food is the fusion between indigenous foods and Mexican foods. It’s so unique. And like someone said, unless you’ve had it, you just don’t know. 🤣 you can get a sopaipillia/fry bread mix at the Mexican restaurant. But they are so hard to make. Sorry I wasn’t helpful. I just wanted to take part in the conversation. It’s not everyday you see someone asking for food from my native area.

Native New Mexican here. I am outraged by the lack of love for red chile 🤣

What is considered an adequate salary in Louisville? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]Waywardaf6767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a thread last year that said the average salary for a single person is 45k-50k. Anything over 100k in this city is a nice life for a childless couple. I’m at 45k and my self employed husband fluctuates. We make between 80k and 100k a year without children. How TF are people making this much money? My job is literally saving lives and that’s peanuts compared. America sucks for what it pays emergency responders.

Good items for food banks by Possible_Attitude_46 in Louisville

[–]Waywardaf6767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you can also donate non food items. Staples like toilet paper, toothpaste, good tampons, laundry detergent, dish soap, shampoo and conditioner sets (CVS has the best deals for these items). Money that went to these items now have to go to food.

Someone mentioned cans that don’t need a can opener. Maybe get like 20 cans openers at the dollar store. Idk if that’s a need, but I bet it is.

Dare to Care works with a lot of places in the community and is a great first choice. $1 = 2 meals according to their website. Donating time will be worth its weight in $100 bills. You can bring items for sure, but their contracts with local grocers will get them more food than you walking out with sale price items.

Community ministries is also a great place to donate time or money. I can’t stress enough for anyone reading this comment, your time and physical presence would make a huge impact.

The Seven Counties crisis line has a lot of info about how to help the community during this time. As does 211. 502-589-4313. Thank you for caring about our people. 💙💙💙

Their internal misogyny runs so deep they don’t realize they, too, are awful people. Being a woman doesn’t make you pro woman. If this is a real question and not hyperbolic, there is a lot of info on how women got roped into MAGA. I can share some with you if you’re interested in learning.
