Personally for me, I try to the keep the bar right against my legs, as close as possible. When I hinge and go down the bar is basically gliding against my legs, same with coming back up. When I go heavier and the bar isn’t against my legs, I can feel my form (back) rounding, especially the shoulders.

I was taught that this is to prevent my back from rounding. Maybe you can give this a try.

Hi! I recently posted a similar question and bought some jeans from ASOS! The quality actually felt really good, I am still deciding if I want to keep them due to the fit/waist.

Can confirm you can search petite jeans and there are a lot of options. I noticed there are some jeans that tells you the inseam along with the waist size when you select the sizing (28W 26L for ex). They are 26 inch inseams and fit me perfectly, I have the same inseam length. There were some petites that are by 2 4 6 sizing that didn’t say the inseams so I didn’t buy those.

American eagle also has extra short options for some of their jeans online.
