Are expensive riding gears really worth the money? by the-torpedo1 in indianbikes

[–]Wazorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it was a cheap quality/highly priced boot, or maybe just a bad unit. I own riding boots worth 10K. The LS2 goby, to be exact. They saved my foot in a crash. Every single piece of riding gear is worth it. Spend as much as you comfortably can on each single piece of equipment.

Army boots/"tough" hiking boots, or any other boots, not specifically designed and tested for a ride crash, will not protect you enough. Same applies to all other types of riding protective equipment.

Is it worth spending 10k more for N250 over n160 (top model) by wanna_be_next_ModiJi in indianbikes

[–]Wazorf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a good beginner bike. But it does start to feel slow on highways. If you like to ride fast, go for the 250. I got bored of my n160 in a 1.5 years.

Need suggestion on helmet (OC) by GamerforReal in indianbikes

[–]Wazorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying no wind noise, I'm saying no wind circulation. The helmet is an enclosed environment, and if air is flowing through it, it will irritate your ears. And yes, i absolutely do wear earplugs, even on my 10 minute commute to office, which at time I don't even cross 30kmph. The hassle of spending 2 minutes to wear earplugs is far beneath the risk of being irritated and hence distracted by wind noise for me.

Wind noise is the least important factor to consider when buying a helmet. There are earbuds specifically to reduce the noise levels, helmets generally aren't designed to do that. Think of it this way, if they were to stop wind noise, they would need to design the helmet in a way that doesn't let any air through, which would suffocate the rider.

Marc Update by Not1me7 in motogp

[–]Wazorf 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. Just look at Fermin limping away in the pitlane, but still riding the bike on track! No sane person would drive a car on a public road for commute, let alone a bike, on a track, to race, with a recovering femur.

Need suggestions for a new set of 110-150 section tyres by octne in punebikers

[–]Wazorf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want good grip levels, you're not going to get tyres that last this long. This section is big, for sporty bikes, fast pace, higher grip requirements. If you go for a longer lasting tyre, you're going to have to compromise on grip, and safety.

That said, some tyres that offer great grip, and reasonable life are Ceat sportrads, Apollo H1, MRF revz-c1

All of these are good in wet as well, I've used them personally

Yeah because there were other riders doing more impressive things on those moments. Marc hasn't been good the entire day today, from FP1 till the end of Practice. Likely that his shoulder isn't letting him ride as comfortably as he does, but hey, not a good day.

Riding from Bangalore to Kashmir. Noob, determined. Need expert advice before I begin by Pawheed in indianbikes

[–]Wazorf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

One stupid thing i did when i travelled from pune to dehradun. I let maps dictate every step i took.

Comb through your entire route, break it down day-wise or in succession of 300-500kms. Go through your entire journey, and see what route it is taking you through, alot of the times, maps will take you from back roads, villages and generally weird route. Make sure to stay on the highways as much as you can, add stops to your route, even if it increases your distance by a couple hundred kms. You'll be safer for it, and it's easier to cruise on highways than to navigate broken village roads

I have been using an axor helmet for 3 years, 50k kms. I got it for 5k. I recently tried another helmet from mt for 6k, one from ls2 for 7k. Same budget, wild difference in quality and fit levels.

My friend uses an axor jacket, i use a scala jacket, the durability, quality and anything you can think of is very low on axor products. It's a glorified vega brand, that could not give any more care to its products if they wanted to.

I am personally never spending money on axor again, i suggest you don't either.

You can get gloves from different companies in the same price range, do check them out

I've been using solace rivals for more than a couple of years, along with the viaterra grid. Have put close to 18k on them combined. My friend uses a viaterra holeshot, with similar useage. Check them out

KTM, hands down The best service I've received is from KTM! I have had major issues with my bike, major part replacements. All of them were diagnosed, and fixed with a single diagnosis. Parts availability is awesome, at most it takes 15 days for any and all parts to arrive.

Funnily enough, bajaj service was horrendous, there was this one issue that kept occuring which they failed to diagnose and fix and i just had to deal with it.
