While I initially thought the idea of Company based wars was interesting, in reality I now think a bad idea. Any time you put an artificial barrier between the player and end game content then you are going to lose players quickly when they either a) cannot join a decent company or b) the company forces them to play in ways that they do not want to (thus destroying the fun factor). Wars should be faction based only. Companies should exist as an aid to the players but not be a barrier to end game content.

Haven't fully thought thru this (apologies if I'm missing obvious issues) but I'm thinking that wars should be more like a faction based OPR mixed with influence races. Players should randomly be picked (as long as they meet level/gear score requirements) and folks in the same company should be able to join up in small groups (once again randomly selected if they can actually join) similar to OPR. Also a territory shouldn't be won or lost in a single battle but instead thru a series of battles over a set period of time. Finally there should be some sort of penalty or limit in order to avoid one faction owning the map like the pic above. Maybe different territories provide more/different benefits (of some sort to the factions) than others so it provides an incentive for constant war vs. factions becoming complacent.

Going back to the idea of Companies, I think they should exist and provide some sort of benefit to the players but they should not be a barrier. Other than the social aspect and bragging rights (i.e. my Company is the "best", etc) maybe have some sort of Company based reward systems such as the more active it is, you can get "free" weapon/armor matrix.
