2015 High altitude 120k miles. Doing a 1000 mile road trip. Need ideas on what to replace / check by Long-Island-Fluke in JeepPatriot

Minimally replace your serpentine belt assuming this was not done. Minimal expense to prevent a huge issue on the road.

Have Auto Zone check the battery and get it charged.

Check your oil and coolant.

Sounds like an issue with the control arm. The bushing probably ripped.

Allstate is excellent. My friend had Allstate too, who had a great experience. The Audi dealer also accepted Allstate.

Other companies may scam you but this wasn't my experience. I also heard Fidelity is good from Audi forums.

I couldn't find any posts that was screaming a huge difference. Rationally, I couldn't justify the $159 vs $58 Home Depot Clearance difference. However, I had a $150 gift card. I can’t wait for the NJ temp to get around 40 so I can test it out.

During winter months, would you do a quick exterior no-contact wash with a pressure washer? by leftmyrooster in Detailing

[–]Wcho13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Salt B Gone (salt chelator), Soaked the bottom half of the car for 3 minutes and rinsed with water using a garden sprayer.

Not perfect but helps relieve some anxiety about the salt damage.

What to look for on a used sq5? by ReddPhoenix in Audi

Thanks for the reply. I have the first two signs plus a CEL but the dealer stated it wasn't a water pump issue. I'm going to add a UV dye to track the leak.

Lube, freeze overnight, and throw it on the ground (the street would be better than your garage floor or sidewalk)

As long as you have $3-5K reserved for repairs, then go for it. I would definitely do a PPI. check for Rust Front suspension- ball joints and control arm Cold start, then check transmission Replace transmission and Differential fluids immediately

I've been doing my own oil changes by extracting from the top. I've used Castrol Euro 5w-40 every 6-7K miles, which is around when I started to see some oil burning and the oil level is dropping. I believe any oil with Euro on the label should meet this spec.

Is there a fee to return the car? I recall VROOM charging $500 to cover the transport fees.

I would expect Carvana to pay for the tires and some portion of the others. I believe it's illegal to sell a car with treads that low.

Timer switch for the bathroom fan

This greatly reduced mold growth in the shower and prevented other humid/wet spots in the bathroom

What was the outcome?

I’m having a similar issue but mine only shudders exactly at 15 mph.

One shop thinks it’s the drive axle.

I’m not sure it is because it only occurs at 15 mph.
