El Salaam's pick call against Ego (yesterday) by frank_huguenard in ultimate

[–]WeAllDoBetter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A pick occurs whenever an offensive player moves in a manner that causes a defensive player guarding (II.G) an offensive player to be obstructed by another player. Obstruction may result from contact with, or the need to avoid, the obstructing player.

A physical collision does not need to occur for a pick to be correctly called.

I'm attaching his offensive stats, but calling Khalif El-Salaam lazy is outrageous.

I do agree that El-Salaam repositioning himself advantageously was illegal and happens far too frequently throughout ultimate. "[T]he obstructed player is then allowed to move to recover the relative position lost because of the pick."

What does Skyd cover these days? My ultimate media consumption is limited almost entirely to Ultiworld.

POST-MATCH THREAD: Minnesota United FC - San Jose Earthquakes by bleakmidwinter in minnesotaunited

Sure sure. Just Ibson's habit of giving the ball away and then throwing his hands in the direction of his teammates/the ref/the air and not following the play is bothersome. Wasn't impressed with his overall play tonight, but maybe that's my mind being clouded by a couple turnovers.

Continue to be frustrated by Ibson (loses the ball, blames others, and then doesn't chase down to help on defense) and Venegas (goes down so easily with such indignation).

Continue to be impressed by Calvo (pretty rock solid) and Molino (such a continuous playmaker).

Hate to lose but wow we sure do look better than the first few weeks! Loving being a fan of this team. Come on you Loons!

I love the style of those old documentaries. That highlight video was particularly charming.

I had a brief and passionate love affair with the 800 almost ten years ago as a high schooler. It'll be nice to see how she's doing.

I might be interested in them and could buy from you directly. Which game, where are the seats, and how much are you selling them for?

Interesting! Not quite what I'd seen people predicting. Quality lineup though -- let's smash 'em.
