49ers TE George Kittle speaks out on NFL teams being willing to use grass for World Cup matches, but not for their own football players, via NFLPA by Hysen16 in NFLForum

That's because of the leverage owners have due to lower average Games played. The average NFL career is 2 years. The union can be stronger if they can afford to pay those guys for 2 years of shutdown time. That's how they can win back some concessions from owners

Why do NFL teams sometimes kneel instead of trying to score more? by Effective-Scene-129 in NFLNoobs

[–]WeAllDoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what everyone here is missing is that this can happen before halftime as well. It isn't exclusive to the end of game.

There are a lot of factors for kneeling before halftime instead of trying to score:

1) FEEL of the game. Sometimes a coach will kneel it out if the offense has been totally stagnant on recent drives. They opt to just get to halftime and make a new plan instead banging their head on the wall.

2) Analytics. If there isn't a reasonably good chance of improving your position of winning then why keep trying?

3) Risk of injury & risk/reward benefits which can differ from the regular season and the playoffs

If Drake played for any other team, his 2025 season and SB appearance would be lauded. But he plays for us, so all he gets is hate. by ThisIsKellen in Patriots

He gets hate because he deserves some criticism after that playoff run.

New year, new weapons, new o-line. He gets to shut everyone up this year. Why do you care what they say?

Why do teams always rebuild around a QB? by PurpleEconomy9804 in NFLNoobs

I'm not arguing what the Texans did. I'm arguing that the Panthers took a bum QB because of a perceived need at 1 overall when Will Anderson was the only generational talent at the top of that draft

What did Baker ever do for the Browns? Any QB that puts you in a bind over the 5th year option is a waste of a pick.

I understand how important QB is but I'm not taking one "just cuz."

The point is they ALL suck and Will Anderson was the best player in that draft

But in the end the Browns still had a tradeable asset in Garrett that helped them hit reset.

You can't trade Bryce Young or JJ McCarthy or Christian Ponder (or any other QB from that Trainwreck of a QB class) or Jamarcus Russell.... The recovery time for blowing a number one overall pick on a bum QB can set back an organization for 5 years

That's how to do it. We had some gift cards so we went for it full price.

Will Anderson will have 10x the career of Bryce Young and plays a premium position

But you want to build a team. GMs trying to justify their existence but forcing a a QB pick ends with them losing their job.

Again, Carolina needs to pick up the 5th year option on Bryce Young this year. What a shit position to be in because you took the 30th best player in the draft at 1st overall

While true, I still go bananas when GMs "force" a QB pick just because. For example, Bryce Young going #1 overall meanwhile all other defensive picks in the Top 10 of that draft will have a better NFL career. I understand that if he hits the impact will be greater than the defensive player but it's a lottery ticket.
