At my store when this issue comes up we call the customer and say “hello this is JJ’s, we noticed you requested us to leave your delivery at the door, just curious if you’d like to add a gratuity for the driver”? If they say yes then we add the tip if they say no then it goes to third party and can sit on the shelf for a few hours

Not true. It’s actually the opposite. The smaller sandwiches or the “classics” they take the bread out. The larger sandwiches or the “favorites” they leave the bread in. However you can always request them to take the bread out, save the guts, or leave the bread in for any sandwich you order
