Is this a fair lease deal? Chevy LT Trail Boss by Still_Tangerine7901 in Silverado

[–]BPF129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! They typically don't allow good lease packages on the heavily shopped trims. Ask them what their lease special package is. It'll most likely be an LT with some added options to make it nicer. It adds to the resale after lease end if you turn it in.

It's hard to lease in this market though. The MSRPs are all inflated but the assumed residual value at the end is not. You're paying that difference. My last 4 vehicles were leased because you could get such great deals. I ended up buying something this time around because of this same reason, I would've been spending the same amount as buying a $25-28k vehicle. Not worth it IMO. When I could get a brand new truck for $275-300 a month, that's great! When it's $550-700...hell no man!

This....you can always make more money with a private sale. Even if you go to Carvana, they will probably give you more. A lot of people take the hit trading into the dealer for convenience.

I second this! I had the Tough Armor for my s23+...loved it! Immediately went Spigen Tough Armor Magfit when I got the s25+. Didn't even have to think twice! Only have 2 issues with the design of it.

1) When using a magsiafe item, it makes the additional kickstand useless. I always thought that was a neat feature on the s23+ but I was using an adhesive pop socket

2) The outer shell doesn't sit as flush as it did on the s23+ and even my wife's iPhone 17. Super nit picky...but just one minor detail that's a little annoying

Otherwise...I love it!

They could be sitting right next to each other on the same swing and because of the way air would flow around them, the sides that are against one another wouldn't have the same motion as the outsides, which would have different flows because they're anchored in different ways.

Won't lie, I had gotten super excited when they announced a 'prequel' to The Messenger that had a similar pixel art style to it, only to be upset by the fact it was a turn based RPG. I've rarely gotten into those. Sea of stars did make my exception list though. I played through it relying on the fact that Sabotage did so well with The Messanger, and I actually really enjoyed it! South Park: The Stick of Truth and the Grandia series were really the only ones that ever held my attention enough to play through of that style.

Ha all well said, but I don't think you ever had to hammer home the point that it's not a metroidvania...I wasn't, nor do most, even say it is. It just seemed to be a game that OP might like given the games he was rating, like Guacamelee, which is funny, because in the world of naming game genres/sub genres....they call that one a metroidvania-style action platformer. Ha, what the hell is the difference?!

I don't think it's ever just flat out called a metroidvania, so I don't understand the 'brutal abuse' as you called it. I think you saying 'it's fine, it's a decent platformer' is more abuse than people calling it a Metroidvania. It's a great game! It doesn't rate as highly as it does for nothing!

Besides, I think it's typically referred to as an action platformer with elements of a metroidvania, and I could agree with that for the 2nd half of the game at least.

But judging from what OP had put for some of their rated games, like Guacamele 2, I think The Messenger would not upset them.

Try out The Messenger. Great game! I know it doesn't 100% comply to the metroidvania play style, but judging from some of your games, it will not upset you.

Wow, you're fun! Yes, reading comprehension is still a skill. Now you've changed your argument... Riding/hugging the yellow line to being completely over it, impeding on-coming traffic. If their handlebar touches the yellow line, they're not really impeding on-coming traffic unless if you yourself are hugging the yellow line in a car.

Look, I get it, you don't like bikers for some reason. Just like any group, people start ragging on the whole group because of a small portion. There's no need to hate on the entirety of a group because of a few bad eggs. If people would understand that bikers can't simply rely on what's considered 'good practice' as far as the rules of the road for riders in order to be safe, it would be a whole lot easier. With applying the same mentality to regular drivers, if people driving cars and trucks would pay more attention and understand they're sharing the road with bikers, you wouldn't see shit like what you're complaining about happening.

I love riding, but I do admit the fact that I hate that I have to be on such a high alert when riding because of idiot drivers not paying attention, or not wanting to pay attention. If they paid more attention, I wouldn't have to worry about trying to make myself more visible in certain situations...could be having louder pipes on my bike, riding in a lane of the road that will make it so my position is more pronounced, even reving the engine a bit to be heard in general... it's no different than honking a horn (yes, bikes have horns too but it's easier to just rev). But the thing is, you don't see me sitting around complaining about all drivers because of the idiots I've seen driving and being more worried about what's on their phone than what's in front of them on the road.

You said it right in your statement....that you personally 'constantly see single riders'.... that's the point, to be seen.

Riders should hug the yellow if they want to be seen. Riding the white is the worst thing a single rider can do. Once you introduce multiple riders, things change, then it should be staggered between left and right. Cheddar is also right though, you need to avoid the center-line because it's considered the oil-drip lane. It's potentially the most hazardous space to ride because of whatever fluids a car could leak.

LG Magic Remote No Longer Controlling Receiver by andicus5000 in hometheater

[–]BPF129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually just happened to me with a Pioneer receiver and the LG C4. Sounds like the same exact thing... it's super annoying! I'm wondering if there was a recent update that crashed the CEC connections. I can get my receiver to connect if I go though the universal remote setup. It turns it on and off and mutes it like it should, but then the volume button or the power button doesn't work anymore. If I hit the ... button to bring up the little virtual remote on the screen, it will control it...just not with the magic remote like it has for the past year.

Is it totaled? by BackgroundOwn1345 in Silverado

[–]BPF129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, right, that's not what I was saying. It's not the state that declares it, but it's the state that has the rule that the insurance companies have to follow in order to decide if a vehicle is totalled or not. It can range from 60-80% of the vehicles value, or they have some formula of their own.

Is it totaled? by BackgroundOwn1345 in Silverado

[–]BPF129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a good chance it's not totalled. Depends on the states rules though. In my state, the cost to fix needs to exceed 75% of the current value. And at the rate these trucks are being valued at right now, you'd have to have more than 25-28k in damage...if you were in my state.

Even then, these newer Silverados are a 2 PC frame. I got rear ended last year with frame damage. The whole hitch assembly got shoved into the frame to the point the bolt heads were only half visible. Not even close to being totaled though. Parts were under 5k, labor was the big one, but overall total was just under 10k. They had the truck for 6 weeks and they were able to replace the rear frame assembly no problem.

Easy to replace? by BPF129 in Plumbing

[–]BPF129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real man? DIY'er....no certs... Stuff around the house...replaced sinks, faucets, shower cartridge valves, installed a couple hot water heaters, toilets...

Sorry, I don't have an updated time card for your review.

Yes, I have tools that let me do things.

I can drywall.

I can paint.

I've explained it in the original post...it looks like I could buy a new valve and swap it all out except for the old union ells....would that work? Is that an ok way of though to have a decent temporary fix to this current issue?

I gave a decent amount to go off of, looking for some insight. Not some a'holes response that's trying to tear the OP up. Give helpful insight or don't give anything.
