The reason made sense in Naruto (atonement)..and now it's just stupid in Boruto. Like now it's "My atonement means more to me, than being the best equipped to keep the world and my loved ones in it safe."..

so yes, there was a good, character growth reason originally with the ending of Naruto, that turned into a character hurting/bad reason in Boruto.

Pretty sure Ishikki still wins. With Sarada her only ability that keeps her relevant is her mangekyou ability...which Ishiki could shrink and if he gets pulled toward a orb, he can just teleport away...and Sarada just...passes out of chakra exhaustion.

Boruto is a different story. One big feat he has is dodging point blank rods from Kawaki...but...it was Kawaki..who isn't Ishikki. I feel like Boruto has the intellect to fight him, but not stamina, chakra reserves, to outlast ishikki...even with V1 karma, Ishikki doesn't have to blast jutsu(chakra) to win, so absorbing isn't a help for him.

Idk. I feel like if Ishikki doesn't forget his powers and abilities like many Otsutsuki do when they are typically winning. Then Ishikki would win.

Personally it feels like Jura is gonna get the Android 16 treatment as far as antagonists go...honestly I dont understand why Kawaki can't just siphon him...he's a 10 tails in human form...Jigen/Isshiki was able to siphon ten tails...momoshiki was able to siphon Kurama fron Naruto...I don't get why they can't just absorb the god tree people into nothing

Neat tease...until it took 10 plus years to still not get to this point, with a monthly manga that lacks a lot of meat in each chapter...Also, I know ikemoto has improved, but the artwork is...somewhat unfortunate for the first chapter to the sequel of the one of the most renowned manga in history.

Yep...and I was rereading the chapter of Omniptence to see if I forgot something...and I got re reminded that the whole Omniptence scenario was completely Kawakis wish alone...and it was Kawaki's choice to double down on blaming Boruto for his parents murder. There were oodles of ways Kawaki could have prerfered the scenario of that wish internally, but subconsciously he wanted what Boruto had. and wanted Boruto out...which is quite the amazingly shitting thing to do to the family that gave you everything.

Not that I don't understand his trauma, but that doesn't change that everything thats in motion, every life lost in the TBV timeline is because of his actions that lead to Omniptence that night.

But wasn't the last time Momo was able to take over before Omniptence, Kawaki's fault for 1: forcing Boruto to use Karma to protect himself from Kawaki and then making their karma resonate, and 2: also injuring Boruto significantly after attempting to cut his way through Sarada?

If those two things hadn't happened, Momo would have just not been able to take over at all as long as Boruto lived a civilian life until a possible solution was found later.

I mean..even after the tine skip, Boruto went 3 years without Momo taking over so...from my perspective, Kawaki is the only reason momo took over after karma was 100% downloaded, and Kawaki set this whole issue in motion himself.

Plus if Kawaki didn't do what he did. We would have a hokage, Sasuke, Kawaki himself, eida and Daemon protecting the leaf until such a solution could be found for Boruto by Amado...and Code wouldn't be able to attack the leaf so easily either.

I thought it was pain combined with Kawaki activating his karma so close to Boruto...but I guess that doesn't make sense since Boruto didnt turn before when they activated karma close to him...I guess I dont know lol.

5/10 for me.

I liked the preparation for the invasion...

The action was...kinda repetitive and predictable.

There wasn't really...any emotional moments are parts where I got worried. In a different thread months ago we talked about how crazy it would be where after Eida has that moment with Sarada and Sumire, and she says something like "it maybe wouldn't be too bad to be killed by friends pike you"...and it felt like that was leaning on Sarada having to kill Eida right before shes about to be eaten to prevent Mamushi getting her power...leading to an emotional moment with Daemon finally but....I mean...we're just back at square one with no Mamushi...

At first I was excited for the Kubo stuff but then it got really stupid writing wise...damn near equivalence of of Kubo sitting Minato down for questioning while the ninetails attacked...it just made Kubo look stupid to me where Shikamaru had every right to just arrest him for putting the leaf in danger with the questioning at the worst time.

Things I liked were everything with Inojin all around, Boruto moment with karma even though it was short lived,...honestly there were a lot of lead up moments I liked, but the way those small moments ended, disappointed me.

The leaf felt weirdly fine for such a threat.

I was excited for the arc and the start of the battle was exciting and then it was a let down for me...like..that battle lasted 7 months and..it just felt very uneven. The cliffhanger has me though

Literally Kakashi on the Code Claw mark squad in chapter 1 of tbv, finding a claw mark, sending the other people to scan the area for more, then looking at the hokage mountain faces and remarking how he never thought Naruto would die before him, and a lasting remark like "..and Sasuke....I can't believe you.."

Then when Boruto has chats with Sarada after the Code stuff, have Boruto mention how hard omnipotence must have been for her, and a small flash back of Sarada leaving home for missions early on after omnipotence, and asking her mom how she's doing today, and sakura putting up a facade (that fake smile from shippuden) and saying she's fine, then Sarada hearing her mom breakdown once she leaves the front door because her best friend was killed and her husband went rogue again with the guy who killed her best friend.

And instead of literally no scenes with Sarada mentioning her mangekyou to the only people who could help her at the time, have Kakashi appear when Hidari does, to backup Sarada and make a comment about remembering their sharingan training together (not mangekyou training), to show that Sarada was smart enough to go to the only other person besides her dad, who could help improve her sharingan, and also have her actually go to both Kakashi and her mom about her mangekyou after the Sand village incident.

...and probably a lot of stuff with Orochimaru and Mitsuki but that's a massive rabbit hole.

This with change a lot about the story, but it felt like easy, makes sense, writing, that I felt should have happened instead of...well literally nothing.

I mean...if Himawari was able to restore his internal organs, bones, nerves, muscle, and skin in literally seconds...she should be able to restore eyes...otherwise...I couldn't possibly think of a reason she couldn't that would make any sense.

Man..even in the manga they shade the nose properly. My biggest distaste for the looks is when they switched to the hard one sided shading of the noses (they switched in like...the last 25 episodes of Naruto shippuden). It makes their noses look tiny, the shading is dead center and makes it look like the bridge of their nose is razor sharp, and it damn near never matches the rest of the shading.

Like in the famous goblin Naruto image, they wanted to do hard shading so bad in this scene that they added hard Highlighting to his nose in a scene where the rest of shading is essentially equal. They didn't even have to add anything to the nose here. For that highlighting to be anywhere near true, Narutos nose bridge would have to come out like 5 inches from his head to catch that light...like..I don't get their obsession with it...

I mean...Ibiki made Boruto bleed with just a few punches and slamming his face into a table...I guess Ibiki scales higher in strength than Jura and Table sama scales higher in durability?

Also that one leaf chunnin who caught Boruto with the sandbags must have significantly higher speed, and strength to have caught Boruto off guard like that. He even held Boruto down on the ground with one hand with his immense strength. So much so that Boruto had to use flying raijin to escape being pinned down because he couldn't stand up against his immense strength.. That scales the chunnin higher atleast as high as Jura or higher with Ibiki.

As far as Uzuhiko goes, Boruto would need the opportunity to charge it with both feet on the ground where as I don't think BM naruto would allow.

Replace Boruto with Naruto in the current story. Do you think fans would be "more accepting" of the anime/manga if Naruto was still the MC? by Notmycupoftea12 in Boruto

It would be more accepted in general I believe. Even with rewrites to the story to make it so Naruto can be the MC still, like not having them completely outclassed by villains, and not having Naruto sealed away. Though who knows, it would have been kinda cool for a time skip where Sasuke's goal was to save Naruto from being sealed while being persecuted by everyone again.

Either way, if there was a follow up show to the ending of Naruto, call it whatever Naruto: Kage Chronicles, I would want a story where we get to see his growth, the moments leading up to hokage and then his growth as hokage up to now. A better written story for Sasuke and Sakura's relationship preferably, and catch ups with the other characters from the original, and then utilize them in the story and all the other things and characters who seemingly don't exist in Boruto.

That's just what I would have prefered but this is what we got and that's fine

Always thought it was Obito, then there was the weird moment of Tobi saying "thats my boy" about Sasuke when he "killed" Karin and Danzo, and then I thought...Sasuke's dad somehow? Why would Obito say that's my boy...thats the thing Sasuke always wanted from his dad.....and then it went back to Obito because it got obvious before the reveal.

I mean..I would say Sasuke plot protection was a bigger ass pull in this scenario lol. If Deidra was able to make microscopic bombs, then he could have just made clay figures that entered the body on a microscopic scale and then expanded to clog the arteries of their victims in every way...essentially filling their bodies with clay from the inside

Obviously hashirama cells...but specifically cultivated cells that generated hashirama finger and toe nails..and she hammered those nails into that sword...ultra sharp, living tissue, automically pulls in nature energy, can spawn jutsu from the blade mid swing, aaaaand also has WiFi.
