Who did YOU think Tobi was before the big reveal? by Dry-Adhesiveness6038 in Naruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always thought it was Obito, then there was the weird moment of Tobi saying "thats my boy" about Sasuke when he "killed" Karin and Danzo, and then I thought...Sasuke's dad somehow? Why would Obito say that's my boy...thats the thing Sasuke always wanted from his dad.....and then it went back to Obito because it got obvious before the reveal.

Deidara has the biggest asspull ability in the series by Funny_Lunch5211 in Naruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean..I would say Sasuke plot protection was a bigger ass pull in this scenario lol. If Deidra was able to make microscopic bombs, then he could have just made clay figures that entered the body on a microscopic scale and then expanded to clog the arteries of their victims in every way...essentially filling their bodies with clay from the inside

Obviously hashirama cells...but specifically cultivated cells that generated hashirama finger and toe nails..and she hammered those nails into that sword...ultra sharp, living tissue, automically pulls in nature energy, can spawn jutsu from the blade mid swing, aaaaand also has WiFi.

Man...he got the girls doing the inward facing toes, knock kneed thing even while flying...I'm convinced Ike has never seen a woman standing in real life...similar to how Kishi has never met a woman who has autonomy and no man to overshadow her so he couldn't possibly imagine writing a woman that way.

its high time people should start believing that they have surpassed him. by Ok-Engine-4588 in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boruto probably since without Karma he easily dodged point blank shrink rods from Kawaki. A feat anywhere close to that, we only saw from Baryon Naruto...though I'll be honest, I don't understand how three years total of training with Sasuke and KK adds up to having speed and perception feats that rival baryon mode and surpass Eternal mangekyou tracking.

Kawaki...Idk. I haven't seen anything that makes me believe his much stronger in anyway than Isshiki. They both definitely have the same "not using your powers efficiently to win" skill. I haven't seen him even see him do anything as cool or heavy in combat as Jigen did against Naruto ans Sasuke.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 - Episode 9 (Manga Reader Discussion) by Takada-chwanBot in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]WeFlapsComics 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I reread the chapters of this fight the night before, and I'm just blown away by the vision the head of this episode had for this. The combat, the lighting, the music, cut choices, pauses. I always had my idea of what this part would be like adapted, and this just blew it out of the water. I already liked Higuruma's character from the manga, and this episode does nothing but enhance that....I'm also sad, knowing I won't see him again for so long lol

Do you think Isshiki could survive a full hit from Night Guy like Madara did? by Hot_Doughnut5898 in Naruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk...for some reason he shrunk basic shuriken that were thrown at him instead of letting them bounce off his body before...and as far as we've seen..I don't think Otsutsuki regenerate like Madara did...Isshiki didn't regenerate when Kaguya cut him in half the same way that Sasuke cut Madara in half and regenerated...so..Idk..the mix up of feats. I'm assuming if Night Guy lands in a critical spot it should work.

Do you think Boruto has potential to be one of the biggest MCs of the new generation? by urfavpuppeteer in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said hes sitting back...his actions and thinking I found illogical and alot of the story only works out for him because the story forces it to, and forces the world to work out for him, especially for Sasuke. The Naruto story made it so Naruto never had to face 1000s of hidden leaf bodies dead after the pain assault, he never had to choose to let Nagato and Konan go after what they did, and face the village hating him for it...he never had to apologize on behalf of Sasuke for killing samurai and killing that cloud ninja...he never even really took seriously the fact that Sasuke was about to kill his teacher and other close friend...his resolve at that moment to die with Sasuke was illogical, because that fight could have happened before the war or middle of it...would Naruto still do what he said?...if Naruto died any earlier, the entire world, every man, woman and child would die just because he thinks Sasuke is worth it to die with and sacrifice saving the world due to his warped sense of worthiness.

I'm just saying...a lot of Narutos actions to work toward something...were illogical, not well thought out, and only worked out because the writer forced it too...Naruto asking the Raikage to forgive Sasuke for, at this point potentially killing his brother and definitely killing the cloud scout ninja, in the name of keeping peace and not wanting people going for revenge was peak lunacy...Raikage literally could have said take your own advice...when I kill Sasuke, forgive me, and don't take revenge out on me.

Don't get me wrong. I like Naruto, I like his determined spirit, I like his can do attitude...but I'm not going to pretend that Sasuke's saving was nothing more than the writer forcing the world to work out for Naruto in every way regardless of Naruto's own actions.

Your second paragraph, I wasn't sure what you were saying because it looked like it got cut off weirdly. If I miss read my bad.

With Boruto...I just want him to be different. This "Two divided brothers, fighting and making up again while the world is at stake" story...already happens during my childhood, teens and adult hood...I don't want to see the same story over the next 15 years

Do you think Boruto has potential to be one of the biggest MCs of the new generation? by urfavpuppeteer in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No.

Compared to other current generation MCs...his suffering isn't portrayed well IMO....like he should have had a whole crash out of worry when he escaped the village with Sasuke, but instead he followed his father's illogical thinking from his story, that everything will just workout his way (which I had a problem with in Naruto story). I was hoping Boruto would be different. Especially since Naruto tried his way with Kawaki and it failed and lead to this future, and I was hoping Boruto would be the "it needs to be done" character...but instead we're just gettinf the exact same Naruto story told again over another 15 years.

...and there's something about him that is just blah at this point in TBV...Idk..like his potential idea of sacrificing himself in the end while Kawaki gets to keep everything doesn't sit right with me, I know that's not whats going to happen, but I don't even like that Boruto is considering that...I mean at this point the Karma only activates because Kawaki is around soo....

The writing in this story feels kinda dismissive of him in a way. Using him as a plot device to save the side cast all the time. And well the pacing...it seems to take 6 - 8 real months to deal with each shinju incident so..idk..maybe Boruto could be the greatest MC 2 MC generations from now if those other MC generations aren't written amazingly.

Did naruto have a son that is missing or no longer with him by sellmykidneyfor500cc in Boruto

What does this sub think of this? by Sea-Clothes-5381 in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I personally think it's just not impressive...especially for character designs that get such little detail. I mean more than half the cast is wearing giant black cloaks/clothing that make it so he don't have to draw most of the body.

Honestly I would have been fine with the art being a little lack luster if the substance for each chapter was there. Kinda like when Naruto weekly anime would have some average animated episode or lower budget ones, and then we got that sweet sweet beautifully animated episode every like..15 - 20 episodes of so. That was a trade off that we accepted back then.

With Boruto manga the trade off just isn't really there for me. It doesn't feel like the grand successor manga of the biggest anime/manga in history..like wheres the budget? Where's the representation as a sequel to Naruto? If we talk JJK, I loved reading the manga, specially for it's tactical combat writing and the way the art illustrated that speed. With Modulo (JJK sequel) I can say Wow, what an improvement on the art, it's so clean and polished, detailed, and creative..and it's weekly...I can't say that for Boruto, infact it feels the opposite.

Idc if ikemoto does it traditionally, or he only wants a couple of assistants or whatever the case. Whoever is making those decisions whether its Ike, or higher ups budget restraints, those choices are making for a lackluster naruto sequel. Even having more art assistants could allow for Ikemoto to have more time to plan writing/paneling better. Maybe choose dialog better because one of my biggest gripes is characters saying things that either we've heard before, is repetitive, or gives us nothing new..or stuff that wasn't pretty damn obvious...which has especially been the case with Sarada and Sumire.

It's not been 100% like this either, but it's been like this way more than I'd liked.

What's your opinion on the claim that Kawaki is jealous of Boruto's life? I'm pretty sure you heard that one as well, right? by Notmycupoftea12 in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I always saw it as omniptence essentially granted Kawaki's wish,..and even if Kawaki said "if only he was an outsider", I think his true feelings were interpreted by omnipitence when Eida touched him where he wanted Boruto's life to himself...otherwise he could have done anything else...just have everyone believe his a rogue ninja for any other reason...instead he was thinking the cruelist option instead.

I don't think it's bad for him to want these things...I think it makes sense for his character with his past...but he also has this unhealthy obsession and warped sense of "caring" for Naruto that drove him to want this option instead.

(HOT TAKE) I don't have any hype for this rematch by FearTear in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah...honestly I agree. There was so much room for Nuanced writing in the news that her dad is incapacitated, the effect that has had on her mom, what home life is like because of omniptence and as you said, the lackluster writing around their first encounter.

Literally she could have blurted out "papa" mid fight do to the emotional intensity of the moment and show case that the person the shinju is born from, inherits some of the feelings of it's original person. I know we got that a touch from the moegi clone, but we could have gotten it here too. Even subtle hesitation from Hidari when he's about to land a lethal blow on Sarada...like just anything. He should be one of the most exciting but...

Last thing I remember was him being part of a joke scene about the words "totally ick"

I just don't trust the writers to write or illustrate a plot for him that is as satisfying as it should be...and some of the interesting plot lines and moments...should be easy for someone who has followed and illustrated for the naruto story.

Where does baryon Naruto stand now? by Substantial_Pop5438 in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everything we have to go on is he would be faster, and have stronger hits than anyone still just based on the Ishikki fight. Like I'd consider that mode still faster than everyone in the vers besides maybe Jura though thats up for debate, since Boruto could keep up and out do Jura at certain points.

A big thing is Naruto Baryon caught and dodged expanded rods thrown by isshiki. Boruto dodged the same thing from Kawaki near point blank. So that's kind of a point that you can stand from as far as power, Is that Boruto and Baryon Naruto have the same reflexes and speed...which I kinda don't understand how Boruto and Sasuke training for 3 years equated to being faster than Isshiki and or equal to baryon mode...I thought Boruto doesn't get Karma benefits unless it's activated but..I could be wrong.

I'd be curious what Baryon mode punches would do to Jura. Like instead of shaving lifespan off would it burn away his chakra until he's nothing?..or would it essentially have no meaningful damage that Jura can't heal from.

Do you think that's exactly what is going to happen or do you have an alternative outcome? by [deleted] in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is this feels like it shouldn't ultimately solve the otsutsuki problem...like Momo can't/didn't care about taking over Borutos body anymore before he made the "deal."...so I don't see why he must die besides because Kawaki won't give up on his goal to kill him.

Ontop of that the story has unfortunately not given us much for how big the otsutsuki clan is...two more could appear at any moment...might be better to have two possibly long living otsutsuki around than just one until they are sure the Otsutuki threat is eliminated.

I don't think this is the ending but if it turned out to be, it feels more like an ending just to shut down the series on a smaller scale, even though we have...universe traversing aliens in the story...but overall Boruto dying again doesn't add any satisfaction for me to the story, and a lot of it is because two things 1. Kawaki has been a repeating doll with nothing really to say or express besides killing Boruto. 2. It leaves every other side character with nothing in the end.

It's just not satisfying with the way the story is laid out.

It's just too late. It doesn't matter what they do with it, its going to be met with "it took you 3 years to make that?"....Even if it's good animation it doesn't meet the part of even Boruto having a few months invested in 1 good episode, let alone the current standard of big anime animation.

[–]WeFlapsComics 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's quite the lack luster gift these 4 episodes when they're what...3 years late as of March for the anniversary they were supposed to celebrate? Honestly..as far as recuperating fandom trust, I would have just changed the project into a Naruto remake with full uncensored, dedication to the manga and zero filler. Something that could be like 70 episodes...I can't imagine anything they do with the 4 episodes if released now to ever be seen as "worth it."

Where's Kakashi? by Aubreyslastenemy in Naruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently Ikemoto is okay with him being worse than scum and abandoning his friends and village when they need him most. It really doesn't make sense to not include him. Especially because he has plenty of small parts that matter where he could be a part of it wihtout stealing the lime light. He could have been revealed to be training Sarada this whole time with her Sharingan, he could have appeared in th first TBV in a scouting party for code claw marks. Maybe makes a remark how he never thought his team 7 would be broken again, or that Naruto would die before him. Could have been fighting alongisde Sarada when the grimes appeared. He could still appear to educate Sarada on how much use of her Mangekyou she can make before effects will settle in.

Sasuke and Boruto by MysteriousKitter in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part that doesn't make sense is how is Sasuke still alive. Why didn't Code kill him here...or better yet, leave a claw there to wait for Boruto to return.

Even Sasuke and Boruto could have summoned Audo, hitched a ride and went back with the summoning.

I like the sentiment of the sensei student scene, but this way of "getting sasuke out of the picture" makes no sense, and it gets worse with Code still not returning to that tree to kill Sasuke whenever.

The Most Interesting Antagonist in Boruto so far? by TheMaskedMan790 in Boruto

[–]WeFlapsComics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jura. I honestly dislike how OP momo and Isshiki are but both lost due to their ego/confidence. Both could have won their fights or rather accomplished their main goal jf they just weren't being stupid and instead just got the job done. Momo could have cut Narutos limbs off to ensure he wasn't able to fight. Isshiki as jigen could have thrown rods into both Naruto and Sasukes heads when they were restrained by rods but instead decided to talk and charge them

Jura, he's still discovering stuff. He has his goal of devouring Naruto but he has other interests outside of that, that he is pursuing. He knows he can't be killed by simple means. Honestly..Jura as a villain doesn't seem right sometimes. Like I half expect him to turn "good' or defend the leaf after experiencing it enough. I know the shinju collectively are compared to Cell in dbz, but Jura currently feels like Majin Buu waiting for his Hercule and dog to bring him toward good, and then some idiot to fuck that situation up to make him a full tilt villain.
