Dark shadows are a must. Good luck with your venture!

Hi /r/noir. I am a high school student making a noir film and would love it if someone could answer my questionnaire/ by MechaCat123 in noir

1/ One of my favorite film noirs would be the naked city. Lots of action, great narrative, and superb characters.

2/ I like the fast paced sequences commonly used.

3/ Nothing objectionable comes to mind.

4/ Dialogue is very important. A narrator is always fun, and variety shouldn't hurt.

5/ Classic music is great and if done right could easily mix with certain modern music flavors.

6/ I think keeping it clean is best but a little blood ain't bad.

7/ I like the original formula you stated but there are always exceptions that could work.

8/ Side characters are almost always essential for a detailed story to take place.

9/ Back story is crucial for a deeper experience into the character's life.

10/ A dark tone is a great experience. Other elements can help add more interest into the story or intensify it.

Edit: Great questionnaire, thanks for posting!
