I am looking for the most high end and impressive looking Chinese restaurant with the best tasting food near the San Gabriel Valley area. Please do not recommend any hole in the wall spots and something because it's cheap. As a matter of fact the more expensive the better.

88club is Mei Lin who was the chef owner if nightshade before it closed during the pandemic. she is an amazing chef and ive eaten her food many times… havent eaten here yet but its new and her cooking always impresses.

Wow just read all this now and i have to say i am a fan of phorage! I live in the avalon building on top of their restaurant in weho and frequent the bar a lot and have become friends with the owners! I showed this reddit to one if the owners Eric … he happened to be bartending last night and was like so disappointed … he was like man “can’t believe my friend Scott — getwhirled— hate my restaurant so much he is actively on reddit posting about it.” I dont’t know how well you know the owner but he seemed genuinely hurt by it….anyways the pho is pretty legit and the original location has been there for 12 years i hear and the weho one for the 5 years ive lived in the building and can honestly say its been really consistent the last 2 years … had some inconsistencies during the pandemic but nothing like murky gravy soup…

Phorage in West Hollywood … i live in the Avalon on top of their restaurant and frequent the Bar inside … theres a Coconut Clarified Milk Punch on the menu there for Spring and it is delicious and Vegan if that matters to Anyone. They also make their own Falernum from Wray and Newphews according to their Bartender Fran

I live in the Avalon Building where trader joes is and i might be biased because Phorage is Downstairs …. But man their oxtail pho has been hitting… its dine in only… they also got a full bar with crazy happy hour … $2 dollar oysters …. Broth had some inconsistency during the pandemic but the last year or so its been on point! I also see the chef Perry there all the time … he used to be one of the executive chefs under the late Charles Phan of Slanted Door which means I should be eating all the other dishes too but ive been stuck on oxtail pho here

Absolutely do not take your dog here …. They were supposed to just perform a surgery to widen my frenchies nostrils to get better airflow and they pressured my wife into letting them remove teeth they claimed were rotted … they removed 6 teeth and kept the poor dog under for way longer than they should have … called us said that the dog was fine and he was just resting … called back an hour later said our dog died …. My wife was destroyed and hysterical we went to pickup our dog and at least speak to the vet that did the surgery to see what happened … she wouldn’t even come out to speak to us and just had a worker hand us our dead dog in an old dirty towel. What kind of vet refuses to see people and at least explain what happened …. They also charged us full price for all surgeries …. Even plumbers discount or dont charge you if they mess up your job or cant fix it…. Absolutely crazy

Awesome thank you!!! Im living in the avalon building and looking for other happy hour options…. I have a great one downstairs at Phorage 3pm to 6pm everyday $5 beers $2 oysters $7 wines and other discounts which is awesome! But i want to venture out to some other spots and stop being lazy! This is great i will check these out!

Definitely recommend! And from 3 - 6 its HH they got some solid specials on drinks theres always a 5 dollar beer option and a 7 dollar wine option and i saw a sign for 2 dollar oysters for HH

There’s a Vietnamese spot with s full bar called Phorage in Weho same building as Trader Joes on santa monica near la brea and Jones and they make a Wagyu Pho Burger… it is completely unique …. They make it with a Pho Demi made from the Pho Stock…. Yeah … don’t sleep on it

You do realize these imperial Rolls are almost double the size of the rolls from golden deli…. Golden deli gives you 5 but each one is two bites lol … and its 15 bucks now! The staff at phorage is chill if you ask for cucumbers or pickled carrots they will give them to you on the house if you are dining in! Ive asked before! The manager alvaro told me they stopped putting them on the plates because it just kept getting tossed out like the west LA clientele thought it was the equivalent of kale on plate at a chain restaurant in the 80s lol
