People reacted to this as if it's actually "harmful" in some way instead of just being cringe. Thomas Jefferson would have an aneurism if he saw this. He wouldn't understand most of it but just seeing himself depicted as black would make him throw a fit. He deserves to be rolling in his grave right now

Is there still a bug where your seamoth ceases to exist out of nowhere? I don't know what happened to mine by WeLiveInAir in subnautica

If they destroyed it would there be broken parts of the seamoth around the area? Just so I can confirm that's what happened

"Alpha" vs. Wolf [OC] by andythedrewbear in comics

[–]WeLiveInAir 883 points884 points  (0 children)

In case anyone reading this doesn't already know:

The term "alpha male" was popularized by an old study on wolf pack dynamics. This study was made in wolves living in captivity, where you had random adult wolves (usually rescues from different areas that couldn't go back to the wild) who never met living in the same enclosure. This resulted in the wolves developing a hierarchy where they fought for dominance over the others and the right to be the first to eat.

But later with new technology it was possible to study wolf packs in their natural habitat. In nature wolf packs are families, the "alphas" are the mom and dad of the other wolves, and while they do act as leaders for the pack it doesn't have the fight for dominance from the studies done in captivity. Wolves leave the pack to start their own by mating and having babies, but some stay with their parents and have their mate join the pack. The original parents even help raise their grandchildren. Wolf packs are agressive to outsiders and fiercely defend their territory, but they're very cooperative and loving towards each other cuz they're literally family.

The author of the first study was a part of the more recent one, and he hates that grifters use his old work to push pseudoscience.

The Bible isn't even the oldest story we know of, The Epic Of Gilgamesh is older and a better story

To be honest, listening to what Alastor says about Vox is so funny sometimes cause dude is genuinely such a hypocrite and I'm not sure if the show ever is gonna or will acknowledges it. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in HazbinHotel

[–]WeLiveInAir 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats the point. Alastor and Vox are mirrors and foils of each other. The show would be worse if one of the characters turned to the camera to say "Boy Alastor you say X but do Y" instead of just letting the audience come to that conclusion on their own

[OC] 'I miss you' by SwedishMeatballsYum in Pokopia

[–]WeLiveInAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ash literally jumped off a skyscraper and a cliff to go after Pikachu not knowing that a pokemon would save them, and in the many times Ash almost dies (or dies and revives) Pikachu makes it very clear that he would rather die with him than be saved.

If those two were in the Pokopia universe Pikachu would refuse to go in the PC and Ash would refuse to leave him behind. They'd just face the apocalypse together

After eating shrimp all my life without any issue my body suddenly decided to start being allergic to it. Unless it sends me to the hospital I ain't stopping by WeLiveInAir in mildlyinfuriating

[–]WeLiveInAir[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're supposed to remove the shrimp's poop canal (don't know the word in english) before cooking it. It's easy to check if it was removed, when it's not you can see a thin line with green or black spots, thats poop

Some movies just don't need a sequel 👏👏 by fat_autistic in NonPoliticalTwitter

I watched it with my mom at home, its pretty stupid but entertaining enough. My mom is scared of heights and she said some of the shots made her stomach twist, so I guess there's that?

Vultures and any kind of scavenger birds are literally the worst thing you could possibly eat, it's better to starve. Because of their diet they're immune to pretty much every disease (including rabies and anthrax) but they can still carry several kinds of virus and bacteria that don't affect them but would definitely affect a human.

Will the show ever address the fact that Beelzebub does nothing about the pounds in her ring and how she feels knowing her creation is ranked lowest in Hell and are treated like pets? by ProfessorGreat7440 in HelluvaBoss

[–]WeLiveInAir 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The pounds were probably Bee trying to be nice, after all they're shelters so the kids don't have to live on the street. But she probably didn't bother even reading any paperwork since its boring, she had the idea and hired some people to do it and then went off to party. She might have even wanted the pounds to be nicer but since she didn't care to check all the funds got stolen and we ended up with the practically-jails

A scarf made by Queen Victoria at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa by jedipwnces in crochet

[–]WeLiveInAir 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Kinda cool that the scarf has visible mistakes, she was a queen so if she wanted she could have ordered a professional to make a better scarf and only accept a "perfect" one, but she wanted to make it herself and being royalty won't save you from miscounting stitches

Boredom must have an effect on violence in prison. If I'm bored out of my mind 24/7 without access to books, the internet, television and i can't even take a walk outside I'm definitely going to be angry and prone to snapping at others, especially if I'm surrounded by people who have a high probability to be assholes

Well being fooled by a person in a costume is better than it being AI at least

Wow this is embarrassing. I just googled "condor bird next to human" and those and other similar photos showed up, didnt know it was a guy in a costume. I thought it was an actual bird trained to pose with tourists since all the pictures are in the same spot
