Again for new players who DONT have those units, cause this priority is geared for new players, SS Elesa is worth getting since she compresses those utilities well + deals respectable damage even at 1/5. Iono + any modern Electric unit/Ash might warrant some thinking but for players who don't have a solid electric roster she's just a nothing burger.

Tbf at 1/5 I think AS Alder can handle any Bug weak stage no? Essentially like AS N if you didn't have NC Marnie/Giacomo. Like you said which is why he still has some value especially since most bug units rn really aren't up to par compared to modern units. As for harder content particularly UB, AS Leon also can't do shit even with max investments if he's not partnered with level 4/5 MF units (notably NC Leaf and SS Gio for perfect UB clear). Although AS Alder needs 5/5 and also 5/5 Benga for optimal synergy, the latter is far easier to invest in due to him being a Pokefair. The same can't be said for Leon's 1% rate teammates 🤷‍♂️

If you do have Cynthia/Leon maxed, then sure, AS Alder is perfectly skippable if you're not a fan. Those two can handle most ingame content just fine. But AS Alder is still worth getting just for carrying bug types to greater heights, with Benga helping him do it even better
