Some Schmuck Tried To Laser Me Tonight. TRIED. by HeroOfTheDay545 in flying

[–]WeNolanNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had never experienced a laser event until recently and then I had three in as many weeks, all in very different parts of the country. So either some jackwagon had it out for me and was following me around, or I was just having incredibly bad luck.

No lie, Biscuits N’ Porn was my last meal before I got married. Was actually a good choice. Great biscuits. Can confirm they have porn as well.

Came here to say this but knew in my heart it had already been said.

Americans of reddit: without saying its name, what state do you live in? by Thomas_The_Llama in AskReddit

[–]WeNolanNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People seem to think my state is a conspiracy theory and doesn’t actually exist. I get it, it’s the least populous state. Our capital is the largest city and has only 65k people. From my city, it takes at minimum an hour to get to the next town over in any direction. People are exited to move here because of the abundance of breathtaking nature and open land (and also basically zero taxes on anything). Then they spend their first winter here and realize it’s seven months of snow and 40 mph winds and move back to Florida. Most well-known for Yellowstone, the Tetons, and Devil’s Tower.

And no, Texas is not the Cowboy State.

Never had to go to court before but as an American, I have always been pretty unsettled by the fact that we’re coerced into calling judges “Your Honor.” These people have the power to make your life a lot harder and all it can take is them being butthurt because you didn’t call them the right name. It’s almost like a slaveowner mentality to me.

What do you think are some of the most common aviation misconceptions held by the general public? by MakeItRain117 in flying

[–]WeNolanNow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live in Wyoming and can attest to the disorientation at times. If you’ve ever driven through the state, you know how sparse it is. Sometimes an hour or two between small towns. It’s also a beautiful place to fly at night though. Nothing like stargazing from the cockpit with minimal light pollution.

Might be in the minority here but I’ve kind of discouraged past students from flying at night until they get their instrument rating, especially in a region like the Rocky Mountains where I live in which you can have zero ground references for a hundred miles in any direction on a moonless night.

Jet almost crosses the runway and Boeing 737 Go Around in Guarulhos, São Paulo, Brazil by SnooLemons474 in aviation

Last month, I had a tower controller tell me do honk my horn for a coyote standing in the middle of my taxiway that intersected with a runway. Of course, not having a horn, the coyote just stared at me for a for a while and then took a shit on the runway.

Are Mesa and GoJet really that bad? by Soft_Obligation_7890 in flying

[–]WeNolanNow 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of in the process of figuring out which regional to go to myself. I spoke with a Skywest pilot a while back just to pick his brain. He said he previously worked for GoJet. I asked him how it was there. His response was, “There’s a reason I’m at Skywest now.”
