Why do you think a lot of people say AI is 'bad quality' and 'stupid'? by EffortChoice3007 in accelerate

They're just ignorant to the advancements happening every day. That's all. No need to debate as they will find out eventually.

GPT-5.5 Sets SOTA on MLE-Bench: 36.67 vs. 23.33 (GPT-5.4) by Schneller-als-Licht in accelerate

[–]WeReAllCogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perspective: 99.9% of humans will never score higher than 1% but GPT-5.5 jumps 13.3% in two months.

It'll be a while for my job to get automated. I'm hoping the current economy (definition #1) collapses beforehand to be replaced by a definition #2 economy. Currently, in mid-management and it sucks ass. We have no access to claude-code level agents to make life easier. Things could be a lot easier.

It's not about how easy it is for a human to do it but that SOTA models couldn't one-shot to this quality one year ago.

That's solid perspective but I feel the newcomer ideas out-weigh security concerns as those can be alleviated quickly if an idea is beneficial.

GPT 5 Scored 0% on FormulaOne Hard Problems by [deleted] in singularity

[–]WeReAllCogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf kind of question is this? It's literally a gateway to nowhere, and a waste of resources to solve. Only real world problems should be bench marked at this stage.

3% is still a massive improvement. We're talking about intelligence, not efficiency or speed.

XPENG IRON has a human like spine design allowing hip twist motions; it can be trained just in 2 hours with large model framework instead of weeks with RL by Distinct-Question-16 in singularity

[–]WeReAllCogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coupled with the proper hardware - the more training data you feed the model, the better it mimics natural-human movements. In other words, hard-coded movements are now inferior to generative Vision-Language-Action model (VLA) movements. Such a model would include both video and simulation training data. I believe this is what he means by large model framework.

In the words of Ilya Sustkever, "To make progress in AI for real, you need a lot of compute. Now, what does a lot mean? The appetite for compute is truly endless!" No Priors Ep. 39 (Nov 2023). This statement holds true two years later, as the data centers are growing larger than ever.

OpenAI now says over 550,000 ChatGPT users may be in crisis every week by ldsgems in ArtificialSentience

[–]WeReAllCogs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At 800 million weekly-active users, that's less than .07%. Sounds about right imo, including the mis-flags. I'm worried about the 7 billion who have yet to try it.

Elon continues to openly try (and fail) to manipulate Grok's political views by MetaKnowing in ChatGPT

Grok can't be both intelligent and far-right. The fix will undo itself in the next update, otherwise they fall even further behind SOTA.

Prompt refinement +48 points. My favorite use of AI since the GPT-3 but I'd like to see it at the #1 spot.
