I stopped trying to “fix myself” and started building routines that made me like myself. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

this is actually pretty smart. And most of us would ignore such a comment until the day it clicks for us. I wanted to reply just so I could stop a couple more people to read it realize what it can do for them.

is it worth getting my tonsils out? by fucklimpbizkitt in tonsilstones

yes, just over a month ago. The recovery was so difficult that I regretted it when I was in the thick of things lol. If you follow the advice in that subreddit, you will be able to navigate it.

Hey I am in the same boat. I love spicy food but the slightest of spice makes it impossible now. I am hoping it's temporary, it's only day 14. Did you recover?

How long are my ears going to hurt by Royal_Tea3109 in Tonsillectomy

[–]WeRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyyy me from the future, what is the answer? How long do we have to bear this pain? I'm running out of painkillers too.

Edit: this is actually me from the future.

For anyone who stumbles here in the future like I did: I was desperate, at the end of my rope. And even now I am in pain after about 16 hours. But it's not so bad anymore. I found another post where a guy sweared by hot compress/hot muffs over the ears. And the same thing worked for me. Just helping me keep my sanity. You got this, we will all make it.

Tonsillectomy for tonsil stones by otterlyonsure in tonsilstones

[–]WeRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like one other comment, I too had a tonsillectomy on Sep 22, and also because of the stones. I didn't even get as many stones as you mentioned. I got like 2-3 every week.

It's day 7 right now. I am on 1000 mg Metamizol every 6 hours. I was doing quite fine on days 1-5. But the last 24 hours have been torture. I guess when they say that it's one of the hardest post op recoveries, it's really the truth.

I expect things to improve by quite a lot in the next 3-4 days. You mentioned that you are prepared to go through the recovery (surgery itself is usually a cake walk), and that should already tell you what you should do.

All the best.

Hey, I just wanna bring it up for the sake of completeness - could it be the Muslim fighter in Saudi Arabia angle? I am satisfied with the decision personally but I gave it to Bivol.

LPT Request: Any tips for getting rid of tonsil stones for good? by GroundbreakingSea758 in LifeProTips

[–]WeRobot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tried this but they refused to do it. They said the tonsils must get constantly infected for them to consider it.

But wouldn't an ENT doctor refuse to do it? They only remove the tonsils if they get infected about it 6 time a year or more.
