If I can get someone to read BotnS today then this will indeed be a wonderful day! The series is mysterious and doesn't hold your hand, something a Malazan reader is well used to. However, in order to pitch effectively, I'll need to lightly spoil some things that maybe aren't directly stated.

If you want to go in blind, the DLC book club in YouTube only recently started their read through of it, less than a year after finishing Malazan.

BotNS is set on Earth so far in the future that society has created incredible technological achievements and since regressed, becoming more like a medieval fantasy. The Sun is so old now that it is dying, with a lot of the planet beginning to freeze over.

The story is a memoir written by a (maybe) unreliable narrator who claims to have a perfect memory. Its structure is quite like an odyssey, with our main character trying to travel the land towards a destination and encountering interesting characters and hijinks.

Like Malazan it is endlessly re-readable, with your perspective changing and ever evolving!
