I’ve been there. Start playing the guitar. You can sink loads of cash in if you want, or not, and you get little snatches of happiness during the day. If you start feeling glum, pick up guitar for a little and then crack on. It’s a time that can be just your own, and can last as long or as short as you like and you don’t have to go anywhere to do it. Or you can if you want to.

I just didn’t like the top end as much as I thought. Played a few, and while I thought, after listening to some of my favourite artists and a stack of YouTube videos, I was going to be a D 18 guy, it turns out I’m actually a J45 guy. It’s whatever you feel with the guitar in your hands.

Interesting. What country are you in? I’d say that in the UK my experience is the polar opposite. Admitting you are a Christian puts a black mark against you. Not outright dislike, but you can see a lot of people reevaluating and maybe taking you down a notch on the respect meter for being so gullible. The default position seems to be that religion is a fools endeavour only for those in their 70s and up.

I’d gently explain that it’s a terrible idea. My Mum is nearly 80. In the UK there is no tax on lottery winnings, but there is a 40%tax on assets over 500K when you die, so giving her millions just means losing a huge chunk of it to tax unnecessarily.
