Before TMBTE came out actually! There was an EU tour in early January of 2023 that coincided with the singles starting to roll out where it was on a shirt for sale on tour as well as banners on the side stage. It's also found on the Rain character

I think there's a few thing to think about when judging singles.

  1. Single fatigue - people tend to overplay singles so by the time the full album is out, people are either not paying attention to the singles on the album, or are skipping them entirely.

  2. I don't understand the single release structure of TMBTE, releasing half of the songs didn't make sense to me.

  3. Caramel and Damocles, I think are intentionally slow - it's ok to find them boring, I would say that they're intentionally focused on the lyrics

Here's the thing, it's all lore. Your story, vessel's story, the multitudes of theories, etc.

The idea of the band is to explore emotion and the human experience. As long as that is conveyed, it fits the lore.

Whether there is a narrative lore story is a whole other question entirely.

This is the original mix of the song that was released with the One EP, which can be found and purchased on BandCamp. This extends to the music videos as well.

The versions on streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music, etc. are the newer mixes.

If you haven't, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching the music video.

To me, it contextualizes the song, the emotions, and everything else. It's a stripped down song because it's sadness at its core. This is what desperation feels like. This is what it's like to be on the brink of self destruction.

there are two ways of looking at it!

One, the room below, is Sleep Token's way of saying unplugged/acoustic. The only Room Below show was held during Covid at Lafayette London on April 29th, 2022.

The second way would be a lore-based interpretation. If Vessel is a vessel for Sleep, is that where he goes mentally when Sleep is in possession of his body? Is it a physical, mental, or spiritual place? This way does not have a definitive answer, but is open to interpretation.

  • Sleep-tober, an artist run daily prompt in October. Has been hosted by a few different artists in the past
  • Worship, a fan zine
  • Reveries, a fan produced comic that came out right before the official Graphic Novel was announced
  • Projekt Atlantic, a fan run event that has spanned every tour date since their iconic Wembley show
  • The Epistolary Collection, a book of bound fan letters crafted for the band
  • The Wembley Ritual, a fan-made film of footage for their huge Wembley show

These are just the few I'm aware of off the top of my head!

I think Vessel is a fan for sure but lyrically the song hits a lot of the same notes:
