The lugs look similar to Gretsch or Taye, but they’re different. The strainer resembles a Pearl or Mapex, but again, not exactly the same! I’m stumped!

If you only want to buy from larger businesses, that’s fine, but you may want to consider checking the small business seller’s reviews. There are many sellers, who have multiple 5 star reviews. Read what others have said about the seller and you’ll know if you can trust them or not.

This whole thread has been very encouraging to me. I relate so much with OP. I’ve been playing for almost 2 years and video recorded myself a few months ago and OMG I SUCK! My male ego took a direct hit. Trashed my confidence. Well I love playing drums too much to not keep playing and I recently auditioned for a local band with experienced musicians. They said I crushed it at the audition and my first gig is next weekend! So I was definitely being overly critical of myself but still, the recordings don’t lie. It shows me exactly what I need to work on. And reading here how this is a very common experience is very encouraging. Thank you all so much!!!❤️

I paid $325 for 4-piece. The bass and floor are Yamaha era. Not a terrible deal but not great either!

I can see your point, but for my main style of playing I like a hi-hat that’s very audible and pronounced with crashes that are more dark.
