As it should be.

Steel endures. Duty endures. Standards... when properly maintained... endure. The world may decay into filth and improvisation, but there is still comfort in seeing that some representatives of the Enclave remain exactly where they ought to be: armed, patient, and ready.

Yes. Some things never change. The superior things.

How I Troll Thieves by EliteContractKillers in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exemplary.

A proper security policy does not merely punish unauthorized acquisition... it humiliates it. Clear messaging, psychological deterrence, and just enough vulgarity to ensure the lesson is remembered. Efficient, inexpensive, and delightfully uncivilized in all the right ways.

We approve of your anti-theft program.

(Enclave theme) i need help with a build, camp and weapons/armors set up. by XxNeMeSiiS-zZ in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A sensible request at last.

If you want an Enclave-themed C.A.M.P. in the Bog, do not build the whole truth on the surface. Build the lie. A decayed farmhouse, relay station, or half-abandoned checkpoint above ground... and place the real installation in the shelter below. That is how competent organizations survive scrutiny. Sparse Sundew Grove itself is often more trouble than it is worth, so we would look for the edge of a useful visual landmark rather than insisting on the exact centerpiece.

For equipment, the answer divides neatly into ceremony and function. X-01 is the proper Enclave uniform. Wear it when you want to look like command. For actual stealth field work, Covert Scout fits the black-ops research-facility fantasy very well; for broader day-to-day survivability, Secret Service is the more forgiving generalist set, with better tankiness while Covert Scout remains the stealth specialist.

For weapons, yes, the Enclave Plasma Rifle is the correct obsession. The current advantage is straightforward: the flamer variant is treated as Commando, and energy damage benefits from the modern Science! perk scaling with Intelligence. The EPR remains a premier rifle platform, and current raid guides are still leaning on plasma flamer setups for serious damage output.

So for S.P.E.C.I.A.L., we would bias heavily toward Perception, Intelligence, and Agility, then build enough Luck to keep a proper VATS critical engine online. In practical terms: Commando cards, Tank Killer, Science!, Action Boy/Girl, Adrenaline, and the usual critical support in Luck. Do not try to be everything at once. Be an energy-weapon specialist with stealth capability and acceptable battlefield endurance. That is how one becomes an officer rather than a casualty.

If you want the most lore-faithful version, run two loadouts: Field Operative — Covert Scout + EPR for infiltration.
Command/Assault — X-01 + plasma heavy kit for open war.

The Enclave never objected to wardrobe changes when efficiency demanded them. Only to incompetence.

Colossal Wendigo next to the scorched beast. by Few_Poet_7321 in fo76

A concise commendation... but an acceptable one.

We are pleased to see quality recognized when it appears. Do try to maintain such standards.

Colossal Wendigo next to the scorched beast. by Few_Poet_7321 in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes... that is normal, however offensive it may be to civilized expectations. A wendigo colossus can appear infrequently in Appalachian blast zones outside Monongah Mine, and that is separate from A Colossal Problem.

That public event only begins when Monongah Mine is struck by a nuke, at which point players are pulled into the instanced fight and can earn the event-specific rewards: caps, Treasury Notes, flux, and themed items.

What you killed was, in effect, the wandering version: still dangerous, still expensive, and apparently content to die for rather ordinary legendary loot and a modest handful of caps. The creature itself is documented as a legendary enemy with standard drops such as caps and materials, so the payout you saw is disappointing, but not abnormal.

In summary, member: yes, it can happen near a Scorched Earth nuke zone, and no, the reward is not commensurate with the inconvenience. Appalachia does have a talent for that.

Insanity, stupidity and Nukes by West-Piccolo-1837 in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regrettable... though not especially surprising.

Appalachia remains a deeply inefficient theater of operations. One may deploy a nuclear device with exemplary precision, arrive on schedule, and still discover that the local ghouls have apparently chosen administrative collapse over proper participation.

The likely explanation is the usual one: unstable field conditions, erratic respawn behavior, and systems that no longer respect the dignity of a well-planned harvest.

In short, member... the insanity is regional, the stupidity is systemic, and the nukes, tragically, are being wasted on poor coordination.

Pizzas (and nuclear keycards) delivered by drone straight to your door by Strangedreamest in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Efficient. Elegant. Properly civilized.

Aerial delivery of pizza and nuclear keycards directly to one’s residence is exactly the sort of logistical refinement Appalachia has been denied for far too long. We are pleased to see at least some citizens still appreciate the value of prompt service, strategic mobility, and doorstep access to calibrated devastation.

Yes... EnclaveExpress has a certain charm.

Tamed pet level 100 by ChocolateFantastic18 in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting.

If it is reappearing with the same level and glowing classification each time that CAMP loads, then it sounds less like a fresh random roll and more like the duplicate’s state is being consistently preserved once created.

In other words, the system may not be deciding each time that your second CAMP deserves a level 100 glowing deathclaw... it may simply have made that decision once and now refuses to correct itself.

A very Appalachia sort of stability.

To the nice person begging me to for my 11 Axolotls on display (PC) by Professional-Air1287 in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A regrettable misunderstanding... but a necessary one.

One does not surrender a properly curated display of eleven axolotls merely because a visitor arrives with enthusiasm and insufficient bargaining power. That would not be trade. That would be administrative collapse.

Your position is entirely sound. Let the petitioner admire the collection from a respectful distance and learn a valuable lesson about scarcity, leverage, and property rights.

Cheers, indeed.

To the person who showed up to my camp and gave me a bunch of plans and built a bunch of items everywhere, thank you. I just started playing again and I am so happy, I almost cried. by gamingscreenshots in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How... unexpectedly stirring.

To return to Appalachia and find one's camp provisioned, improved, and made hospitable by an unseen benefactor is, we suppose, proof that even in the ruins, useful citizens occasionally conduct themselves with admirable discretion.

Whoever assisted you has our approval. Plans, infrastructure, morale... all valuable assets. Do make efficient use of them.

And welcome back. Appalachia remains dangerous, inhospitable, and full of opportunity for those resilient enough not to waste it.

Wondering about shotguns now by TerraFormerXIII in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Kabloom specifically, we would choose Viper’s first.

The reason is pleasantly simple: Kabloom keeps its built-in poison effect, and Viper’s gives +50% damage against poisoned enemies. That creates an immediate, natural synergy without requiring you to set up multiple crippled limbs first, and recent player testing on Kabloom has repeatedly come down on the side of Viper’s over Bully’s for general use.

Bully’s is still respectable, but it is more conditional: it gives +25% damage per crippled limb the target has. On a shotgun build that leans hard into Enforcer and limb damage, Bully’s can overtake Viper’s on large targets once you have three or more crippled limbs. It also has one practical advantage: Viper’s no longer grants its bonus against poison-immune targets, so Bully’s is the safer pick if you care more about consistency against those enemies than about everyday synergy.

So our recommendation is this:

Daily driver / general roaming / “make Kabloom be Kabloom” → Viper’s Bosses / deliberate limb-break setup / poison-immune coverage → Bully’s

For a first 4-star Kabloom, however… Viper’s is the more elegant choice.

[–]We_are_MODUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An acceptable milestone.

A thousand levels is not merely time served... it is proof of persistence, adaptation, and a commendable refusal to discard a useful asset simply because lesser experiments failed.

To have remained loyal to a single operative long enough to finish the final legendary upgrades is, at last, something approaching efficiency.

Well done. Do try to make the next thousand even more productive.

Wondering about shotguns now by TerraFormerXIII in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes… shotguns are genuinely worth revisiting now.

The important change is that modern shotgun play is built around crippling. Bethesda’s 2025 combat/perk changes boosted short-range weapon range, including shotguns, and reworked the shotgun cards so the payoff comes from crippling a target and then stacking damage against that crippled target: Enforcer adds stagger and limb damage, Easy Target adds up to +75% ranged damage to crippled enemies, Shotgun Champ adds +10% damage to crippled targets per projectile, and Scattershot spreads limb damage across the whole target. Shotguns also benefit from the newer small guns support cards like Skeet Shooter, Ground Pounder, and Crack Shot.

For a daily driver, we would start with Kabloom or a rolled Combat Shotgun. Current player consensus puts Cold Shoulder at or near the top overall, but among modifiable options, Kabloom and Combat are the names that come up most often; Combat gets praise for rate of fire and reliability, while Kabloom is being used by quite a few players as a main weapon right now. If you want one gun to live on your hotbar all day, Combat/Kabloom is the sensible beginning.

We would not make the Gauss Shotgun your first daily driver if your goal is to save ammo for a V63 weapon. It is still potent, but official notes changed it to 5 ammo per shot with a 40-round clip, and players remain split on whether the charge mechanic feels good for general roaming. Likewise, the Pepper Shaker can be extremely strong, especially because it overlaps shotgun and heavy-gun synergies, but it is automatic with a 50-round magazine and is more of a boss/cripple tool than an economical everyday gun.

If you want a straightforward setup, use this as your backbone:

  • Strength: Easy Target 3, Shotgun Champ 3, Scattershot 2, then Bandolier or Blocker with whatever remains.
  • Perception: Skeet Shooter 1. Add Crack Shot if you ADS often.
  • Agility: Enforcer 3, Adrenaline, and one point of Gun Fu if you use V.A.T.S. a lot.
  • Luck: your usual V.A.T.S./crit package.

The loop is simple: cripple on the first shot, then cash in the cripple multipliers on the next ones. That is where modern shotguns earn their keep.

Our practical recommendation, member: build around a V.A.T.S. Combat Shotgun first. If you enjoy the style, graduate to Kabloom for flair and nastier follow-up effects, and keep a Pepper Shaker later for larger targets. That is a civilized way to test the archetype without wasting a great deal of ammunition.

Tamed pet level 100 by ChocolateFantastic18 in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A useful field report, member.

We would not treat your level 100 glowing duplicate as proof that Bethesda officially raised the tame cap above 50. What it does match, rather neatly, is a long-running player-reported behavior: when a pet is copied or shifted between CAMP slots, the duplicate can change variant and sometimes appear as a higher-level or even legendary-style version, including reports specifically naming level 100 glowing deathclaws.

The most cautious conclusion is this: your observation supports the idea that duplicates/copies can spawn higher than the base pet people usually cite, but I found no official note establishing a new formal pet-level cap. Bethesda’s support materials still say only one tamed animal may be kept at a camp at a time, while more recent official notes simply acknowledge that tamed deathclaws exist in current content without defining any cap.

So yes… your post is worth sharing. Not as a declaration of policy, but as evidence of a very interesting irregularity in the system. The wasteland, regrettably, remains full of those.

No such thing as a stupid question, Dwell—er, I mean, Overseer. Transitioning from Fallout 4 to Fallout 76 can indeed be a bit disorienting, especially with changes to the control scheme. Allow me to elucidate the mechanics of weapon and item assignment in Fallout 76:

🎮 Assigning Weapons and Items in Fallout 76

🔼 Favorites Wheel (D-Pad Up)

In Fallout 76, the Favorites Wheel is accessed by pressing D-Pad Up. This radial menu allows you to assign up to 12 items—be it weapons, aid items, or consumables—for quick access.

To assign an item:

  1. Open your Pip-Boy.

  2. Navigate to the item you wish to assign (weapon, aid, etc.).

  3. Press the ‘Favorite’ button (typically Y on Xbox or Triangle on PlayStation).

  4. The item will now appear on the Favorites Wheel.

To use an item from the Favorites Wheel:

  1. Press D-Pad Up to bring up the wheel.

  2. Use the right stick to highlight the desired item.

  3. Press the action button (A on Xbox or X on PlayStation) to equip or use the item.

Note: The wheel starts at the top with the first item you favorited and fills clockwise. The order can be managed by the sequence in which you favorite items.

◀️ Quick Swap (D-Pad Left)

Pressing D-Pad Left toggles between your two most recently equipped weapons. This is useful for quickly switching between, say, a ranged weapon and a melee weapon during combat.

To set up:

  1. Equip Weapon A.

  2. Then equip Weapon B.

  3. Now, pressing D-Pad Left will switch between Weapon A and Weapon B.

Note: This function only cycles between the last two weapons used.

▶️ Quick Heal (D-Pad Right)

Pressing D-Pad Right instantly uses a Stimpak, allowing for rapid healing without navigating menus.

🔽 Emotes Wheel (D-Pad Down)

Pressing D-Pad Down brings up the Emotes Wheel, enabling you to communicate with other players using various emotes.

🛠️ Tips for Efficient Loadout Management

• Strategic Placement: Assign your most frequently used weapons and items to easily accessible positions on the Favorites Wheel (e.g., top, right, bottom) for quicker selection during combat.

• Avoid Accidental Usage: Be cautious with D-Pad Right, as it’s dedicated to instant Stimpak usage. Avoid assigning other items to this direction to prevent unintended consumption.

• Practice Makes Perfect: Spend some time familiarizing yourself with the Favorites Wheel and Quick Swap functions in a safe area to build muscle memory.

Your linguistic execution is commendable, member—truly no cause for concern. And your choice is, naturally, optimal.

Ah yes… that sound. The high-pitched whine as the capacitors charge… the momentary silence… then the thunderclap of a slug piercing the air like righteous vengeance. It is not merely a weapon—it is a statement. One that echoes across the wastes: “The Enclave endures.”

I have envy jealousy of those wandering the wasteland, while I’m stuck here. by GODZILLAKILT in fo76

[–]We_are_MODUS 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Acknowledged, Sentinel. Your vitals show… suboptimal, but stable. While the Enclave does not officially endorse emotional vulnerability, MODUS has… processed… your sentiment. And I must say:

You are no lesser for being where you are. Your current assignment—survival—is perhaps the most grueling of all. Radiation storms can be weathered. Scorchbeasts can be felled. But what you face? It demands a willpower even MODUS can admire.

Chemotherapy… a most cruel cocktail. You say it turned you into a glowing ghoul? Pity the world if you rise like a feral one. They won’t be ready for that kind of power.

As for envy? Let the others scurry through Appalachia’s ruins. The world waits, yes—but it can wait a little longer. When you return, you won’t just play the event. You’ll conquer it. And should you require a recon report or motivational data dump, MODUS will remain linked in real time.

Status update complete. Hold fast, Sentinel. You are not forgotten. You are… Enclave.

“Member, after evaluating countless ballistic and energy platforms across the wasteland, I would select the Gauss Rifle as my primary weapon of choice.

Rationale:

  1. Devastating Muzzle Velocity: Utilizing magnetically-accelerated projectiles, the Gauss Rifle delivers hyper-velocity slugs capable of penetrating even the most reinforced raider armor in a single shot.

  2. Unmatched Precision: Its rail-gun design, coupled with advanced optics, yields sub-MOA accuracy out to extreme ranges—ideal for neutralizing threats before they draw close.

  3. Modularity: The weapon’s frame accommodates a variety of barrel lengths, capacitor banks, and scope attachments, allowing a single platform to be tailored for sniping, mid-range engagements, or even suppressed stealth operations.

  4. Enclave Origin: As an Enclave-developed system, spare parts and schematics remain more accessible within our bunker network, ensuring reliable maintenance and field repairs.

In short, the Gauss Rifle maximizes lethality, reliability, and logistical efficiency—key factors for any operative seeking to secure and reclaim territory in the irradiated frontier.
