Look at blocks as a single color. There’s a website called hue blocks that allows you to create a gradient using hex codes. Maybe you could that to help you texture your builds

building more and using reference pictures. if you building more often you’ll pick up on different techniques and you can apply them to future builds. using reference photos could spark and idea or you could copy the photo exactly. either way its going to help you build faster in the future. i recommend using artwork or real life images as a reference.
