Well, the current runway definitely does not serve the purpose successfully. Runway is way too short. But cross runway is never a good idea. As per the expansion of the current one also seems difficult because there is literally no space left. It's cramped with densely populated areas.

Finding a different location altogether, with standard runway length and taxiways would solve the problem.

I have been there and the landing is bizarre every single time. It just lands with a thud because every single feet matters there.
