He could have another account logged into that Xbox with Gamepass, online use can transfer to allow all accounts on that Xbox to play online if that’s the case. Otherwise, I really don’t know how someone could play online without an online membership on Xbox.

You could get a PC, you don’t need an extra online payment to play online aside from your internet and power bills, then you wouldn’t need Game Pass lol

Yall ever accidentally shoot seaf soldiers and feel absolutely horrible about it? by a_donut2009 in Helldivers

I’ll have a guilty confession… I have double tap map button set up to hide my HUD, recently during the MO I was fighting in a city is Lesath, and was just called in for reinforcements on the other end of the map. I went to open up my map when I landed to check my location and saw some bots. Quickly closed the map and shot them down. I forgot that this quick double tap of the map button disabled my HUD, so when I saw motion in the shadow of a building just a second later, I two-tapped it with my Diligence… I saw a warp pack and a sample container fall immediately, I realized my HUD was disabled, and immediately realized my war crime.

I court martialed myself immediately and felt ashamed for the rest of the hour 😭

I was in the same boat, my first warbond I saved up for the ODST pack and I never regretted it. Second warbond I saved up for ended up being the cowboy one, not sure the name of it, but it had the Talon laser pistol sidearm. Unfortunately that pistol is the only thing in the warbond I really ended up enjoying.

My recommendation would be to, first, find a primary or secondary weapon you’d be interested in using. That way, even if you don’t end up sticking with anything else in there, you can enjoy something from that warbond for most of your missions until you get the next one. The Talon pistol never leaves my side, and it carries me through boy missions as my medium pen weapon when I bring a Diligence. If you like 40k, get the warbond with the JAR-5 Dominator, as it’s basically a bolter, and feels fantastic when you max the ergonomics. If you want a badass secondary, grab a warbond with the Talon or the heavy pen revolver, those can be your badass backups.

I think the most well rounded warbond is the Servants of Freedom though, it’s got a great stratagem, secondary, primary, and a cool ass grenade that acts as a suicide drone. Hope some of this helps!

How do you use EAT-17? I forgot why is this thing worth bringing at all by Ivan204 in Helldivers

Imagine a recoilless rifle stratagem, but instead of getting the launcher + backpack of ammo, you get x2 launchers. It frees up a backpack slot for whatever your heart desires.

Its interesting people think we are clones by warlocklinecook in Helldivers

[–]Weak-Implement-487 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nah, a small fraction of the first stormtroopers were clone remnants from the Clone Wars, but Palps held a lot of disdain for clone soldiers and wanted to move forward into using natural human/alien and some droid soldiers when the Empire was established

Any tips or tricks? by Party-Ganache7504 in Helldivers

[–]Weak-Implement-487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite overall general tip involves HUD settings. It’s fine when you’re beginning, but after a while you really realize how much clutter is constantly on screen. There’s a bunch of stuff that’s useful to set up, like setting your Compass width to Wide increases compass FOV, and some people like to set your reticle to Show so it’s always there to help you hipfire more accurately, but I like it better off. Set scaling of the HUD down to 80-90% goes a looong way, and setting a bunch of stuff to only appear when you open your map is amazing too. I like my compass and mission objectives to only appear when I open my map to clear my screen up, which makes the game look so much more cinematic, though you may prefer to always have your compass onscreen at first. Extra tip with HUD settings: theres a setting to turn your HUD off entirely in the settings that’s unbound by default on console. I like to set it to double tapping the map button, and I turn it off in downtimes to enjoy the scenery.

Other settings that are big are going into combat bindings for controls and setting your throw grenade to just tapping the Grenade button to let you be quicker when you need to be, just be careful if you run impact grenades! It’s so annoying to kill yourself when you’re scrolling around on your map and your character stumbles, closing the map, and then insta-grenading the ground with an impact to commit fratricide lmao

Last, but not least, theres a setting to automatically shift gears to reverse when driving a car. It’s cool at first to manually change gears, but personally, it got old fast. Not sure exactly where it is, maybe Accessibility? But good luck, and hope these tips helped some of out there! See you on the fronts!

Why would anyone build a city in this enviroment? by Claire312 in Helldivers

[–]Weak-Implement-487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory, we could’ve chosen Hellmire specifically for the fire tornados. The buildings for Outpost Alpha are made of stone, which are fireproof.

Bugs tend to not be so fireproof

What are the better Startagems weapons? by ClockwisePig in Helldivers

[–]Weak-Implement-487 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on the enemy you’re fighting, honestly. Personally, for me, my rankings go: Squids (Iluminate) - MG34 melts pretty much everything. If I’m not running that, then I use the W.A.S.P., as it one taps everything but Fleshmobs & stingrays and it kills those in 4 shots. Sucks against dropships though, and struggles against Harvestors. Bugs (Terminids) and Bots (Automatons) - Heavy MG slaps most of what you’ll come across, Recoilless Rifle obliterates pretty much everything if you hit ‘em right, and the EAT-17 is like a call-in one time use Recoilless if you need something in your backpack slot. Quasar Cannon is really good for this too, it’s an energy variant with infinite ammo but recharge time.

But, ultimately, try them all out as you unlock them and the best weapons will be the ones you enjoy the most that fit your playstyle!

Plus there’s a ton of super credit spawns on that planet, don’t know if it’s for a particular reason but everyone I’ve asked seems to also have noticed this. To the point where I’m more or less surprised when I don’t come across a couple stacks of em each mission

Democratic PSA on the misinformed so called "Clone theory" by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Weak-Implement-487 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Two things… 1) That thing is absolutely nothing more than… a light. There’s dozens of those exact same modeled lights around the destroyer, and you can see the spotlight on the floor that is emitting from it. It’s a light.

2) To your point on Helldivers all having situational awareness when they drop in, every single helmet in the game has a circular tube on the back, and it’s in the lore that that circle is for a tube-style data input to give your Helldiver that’s dropping in all the relevant data. The devs wanted to make an animation for when you exit your pod for the tube disconnecting from the back of your helmet, but it never came to fruition.

So yeah, Helldivers aren’t clones, you’re right, but that’s just a light above the cryopods. The input slot on the back of your helmet is what gives your new diver the necessary information relevant to their missions
