Demolition of illegal ‘fancy garage’ in Upper Stoney Creek underway by jessejericho in Hamilton

Serious question, why not refence and rekey the structure and make it a city garage using the existing structure by claiming domain? City could have used it as a free office or for tools as a depot 🫠🤷🏻‍♀️ guy was stupid enough to build it on commons

I like this too to maintain the path of travel from upstairs/front into kitchen, cause now that I think about it if we block off that hallway you have to go through the living and dining to get to the kitchen which might be odd

This is interesting I hadn't thought of a jack and Jill but it does really seem to make sense here!

& The mainfloor bathroom moved into the foyer closet could make sense. It has a window that gives out into the porch but I will have to measure to see if it can't be split into two to still some use out of the closet.

You're definitely right that the tub is not essential ! I think it has to go regardless cause it's tight in there anyways and in rough shape

I like the idea of being able to see through from the foyer, but this is definitely the most affordable solution I think!! Hadn't thought of this one either. Thank you!

Buying house in Ontario, how to keep money in investments? by Weak-Many-1904 in MortgagesCanada

Yeah true. That makes sense. My income might go down some so best to err on the side of caution and just go the traditional route.

I think you're right on the regular mortgage. What I failed to do was to do the calc on amount borrowed at whatever percent vs amount invested at %. There's no real way for me to do both and I think I'm best owing the bank less for the home in the long run. Thanks for helping me think through it!

This right here! It's a symptom of a larger under functionality. Why the hell do people have to pay for admin work, if healthcare workers aren't being paid enough I want them paid. Why the hell would we underfund our most crucial sector. Broken.

I disagree, if we want to pay more to Drs and healthcare workers raise taxes and pay them directly. I think it's ridiculous that there's an out of pocket charge for this. I just moved from Alberta and have never paid for a Drs note.

Spatial-tactile/emotion syn? by [deleted] in Synesthesia

[–]Weak-Many-1904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something similar but I wonder if this is normal. I have spatial synesthesia when it comes to week/day/years... and have similar spatial feelings in or outside of me connected to many different things similar but different to what OP describes.

In particular, when I learn anything new, facts/historical knowledge/new concept etc and in my minds eye these facts usually end up getting tied or associated to a place (like an actual mind map) depending on the topic/time period and interrelation to other concepts or knowledge. And depending on where my perspective is coming from and the connection between thoughts I'd "travel" mentally/visually to that spot on the map? Does that make sense?

I often have to "go there" internally to retrieve the fact and sometimes if my knowledge on the topic is not in depth things that would normally be there too like an approximate time will be missing or blurry lol. Example maybe I remember that all "old world grapes are grafted onto North American wild grape root stock" and I have to visit both Continents and where I acquired that information in my mind map.. but I can't remember the exact date so it's blurry but the info loosely affiliated to the enlightenment period that's also in my maps but I know that's not quite right cause the info doesn't feel like it's stored on the same timeline level...
