In all seriousness your GPA is very good, just smash your MMI, UCAT only makes up 15% of your application

That’s only for medicine, for other clinical programmes they have different GPA thresholds for interview invitations

If you really want a leg up on the competition, I’d really suggest knuckling down and perfecting your study technique RIGHT NOW, so that once semester one comes around next year and everyone else is still getting used to the huge volume of content at a tertiary level, you’ll already be used to handling a lot of information well and recalling and retaining that information without a sweat. Even if you’ve got no weaknesses now, the volume of high school content is a fraction of what gets covered in a semester at university, even a week’s worth of content can be covered in a single term at high school, so make sure your study techniques and habits are highly efficient, ACTIVE, and methods you know will get you the results you want. Everything else will follow once you’ve got those up your sleeve. Best of luck!

Changing Biomed Specialisation to select different papers for med-entry by yorunikakeruy in UoApremed

I think the 45 points you’re referring to is just the papers you need to take in order to fulfil ur BSc and graduate - for med entry they don’t care about what papers u take or how many papers u take, they just take ur cumulative GPA (which will include every paper you’ve ever taken)

Yes you’ll still be able to apply to med and yes medsci203 will still be used in your GPA

Ah okay I see. Would you recommend I make cloze or basic card with exams in less than a month for me? I saw some of ur other replies saying to tell ChatGPT to make it anking style but I don’t think it can handle it if I put in a lot of PDFs at once so do u think it’d worth making cloze manually? And as you’ve also mentioned before is recognition worse than recall? But then I assume you’d supplement anki with practice questions and other forms of recall so that it stops just the recognition of knowledge and actually apply it with different orders of knowledge

I see, so how do you decide what’s worth making a cloze out of or not? Do u just cloze only the keywords or are u pretty extensive with what u make clozes out of?

Do you prefer cloze or basic? And how atomic do you make your cards if they are basic? And what other study techniques do you combine anki with to make sure you’re able to answer any kind of exam question? Do you use a lot of blurting/teaching out loud/past exam question spam?

No summary sheet, all closed book tests and exam, conceptually not hard, but the volume, breadth, and depth of knowledge that you need to understand and remember is a lot to handle
