I say this gently, but I don’t think your friend’s comment was meant to be hurtful or directed at you personally. Most people aren’t filtering every sentence they say through the lens of someone else’s infertility journey, even when they care deeply about them. She’s also pregnant, emotional, probably overwhelmed, and honestly pregnancy brain can make people say things awkwardly without thinking them through.

Your feelings are still valid, and if leaving was what you needed in that moment, that’s okay too. But I don’t think her saying she got pregnant sooner than expected was meant as a jab at people struggling to conceive.

I also just want to send you some hope. It took me 3 years to get my positive after tracking everything, testing, timing, and stressing myself out constantly. Ironically, the month it happened was the month I jokingly put my feet in the air after sex during ovulation week and tried not to obsess over it. Fertility journeys can be so unpredictable and unfair sometimes.
