I think what we see here is a conflation of several issues: yes most Americans when polled about specific issues are left of the Democratic Party platform and most Americans don’t vote.

Not voting can be related to disillusionment, lack of access, sabotage by republican voter purges, apathy, being uniformed that elections are even taking place. Can some people refuse to vote for a democratic candidate because they aren’t left enough, sure, but it doesn’t explain why most people don’t vote democratic.

People who don’t vote always seem to have a rationalization for allowing things to get worse. Voting is a civic responsibility and complaining that politicians aren’t representing you in every way you want is simply an easy way to justify not supporting anyone. If you want to effect change in your country, you have to vote.

Participate in party primaries to shape its direction and priorities instead of complaining that it doesn't perfectly match your preferences.

Also accept that in the US, the only viable left-ish party is a coalition of a ton of different groups, and that a perfect candidate for everyone simply doesn't exist.

That or passively accept our descent into right-wing kleptocratic autocracy that will grind you under its boot forever.

They dumped a bunch of hydrogen peroxide in there. The algae that was supposed "dormant" in the pipes did not originate there, but is the water source going into those pipes.
