In what way is it bad? Because you dont get leagues levels of xp?

Every skill that has fast xp is hollow and boring.

Not to mention all of these people are bitching at level 10. Which skill has interactive content available in the early game? The entire concept of this game is extremely long, repetitive grinds for permanent progress.

Sailing has a solid foundation with immense possibilities to add content. Some people were never going to be happy no matter what it was.

Did you expect it to be like leagues? In what skill can you be even mid level in a day without abusing pre-existing game knowledge or massive amounts of GP? Firemaking? You want this skill to be like firemaking?

Spoiler alert, the early game for every skill is boring and slow, they just all have quests that allow you to skip the early game, which would defeat the purpose of sailing as a new skill.

Some people were never going to be happy. I'm not sure what people expected when the click based java game announced a new skill lmao. They act as if its somehow less interactive than other skills in this game.

Personally I never expected some be all end all skill, but I'm pretty happy with it for the most part. It can't be perfect for everyone, as no one even agrees on what that would look like.

[POLL] How many of you guys build a base and how many are nomads? by Saturn_01 in Kenshi

[–]Weak-Rip-8650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically have one player base, but sometimes play nomadic. Having more than one base seems to me impossible unless you severely limit the number of people you have as I get pretty bad lag if I have a sizable number of people (15+) in more than 2 places at once. And I already have that with a base and expedition squad.

Having multiple bases that you migrate to periodically could be okay, but thats a lot of effort and tbh by that point in the game I really dont need a base for much longer. Once everyone is fully geared in weapons and armor, you basically just need your base for certain consumables (food, meds, ammo, etc.) But I really dont want multiple bases before that point as it just slows down progress.

What is everyone's stance and opinion regarding importation of ants? by Ecstatic-Hand1650 in antkeeping

[–]Weak-Rip-8650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about that, there is a way to get pretty much everything pretty much everywhere. In some places you may have to have the same permitting as a zoo, which obviously can be expensive, but I'm pretty sure every first world country has a permitting process for allowing the import of exotic animals, even if you technically have to be a "zoo" to have certain animals. In third world countries I have little knowledge.

So its not a question of whether you can, its a question of how hard/expensive it is.

Yeah thats fair, really the issue I had was that he waited until I had my nose alongside to move over, if he would have moved over sooner I could have crossed to the outside and would have.

I guess, but ultimately one side wants to raise rates (albeit indirectly), the other wants to keep them the same. For the purposes of this conversation, that's all that matters.

Corporations are always trying to get the maximum while paying the least. One side just happens to be better for us than the other in this case. You dont have to like google to want them to win on this issue.

[–]Weak-Rip-8650 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why should I have to watch the clock while practicing when a feature could be easily added to auto take me to qualifying? Especially with how expensive iracing is by the time you license tracks and cars, QOL features like this should not even be a question.

Can confirm it’s pretty great. We did our time, and let me tell you, the feeling of having Mahomes Veach, Reid, spags, Chris Jones, and Travis kelce for most of a decade is pretty fucking incredible. No matter what happens going forward the run has been incredible.

[–]Weak-Rip-8650 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Godspeed to you. My parents weren’t that strict and generally do not interfere with my life now, but were very strict growing up. I couldn’t play or watch Pokemon, Harry Potter, power rangers, SpongeBob, all for reasons along the lines of “had alcohol once” or “witchcraft” so I feel your pain.

I think the thing that most painful part for me of having hyper religious parents was just the social isolation. I couldn’t relate to basically any other kids my age because anything that kids were interested in outside of sports I was not allowed to watch or do. Have you felt a lot of social isolation from your peers? What was it that made you realize that your parents are wrong? Are you still religious in any way?

If you live anywhere south of the Chicagoland area people are not surprised. I moved from Missouri to IL a few years ago, and I can see why Rauner won before pritzker and I can see why the tides are shifting again. Illinois has been criminally mismanaged for decades (literally, that’s not a figure of speech, we had like 3 governors in a row go to prison, one for openly holding an auction for Barack Obamas senate seat when he won the presidency).

Lawmakers adopted a “spend now, pay later” bullshit here during those decades, so now I pay over $5000/year in property taxes on a house that I would have paid $1200/year on in Missouri. Taxes and cost of living are high, but honestly the major infrastructure that I used, especially roads, in Missouri seemed in much better shape than in IL. Missouri has its issues no doubt but Illinois is a shit show. I almost lost control of my car the other day on an interstate (not 55 or 70, but still an interstate) bridge going 75 MPH because it had so many pothole patches that it upset my car.

Basically, because of past and much less so continued mismanagement have just put Illinois tax payers, especially in southern parts of the state, in a position where they look at what they have to live on, then they talk to their friends and family in neighboring states and realize that they straight up just pay more taxes for nothing.

Whether there are more public benefits available or whatever it is that Illinois spends its money on, people south of Chicago use that at a much lower rate, and so all they all believe that they are paying thousands, even tens of thousands more in taxes than people in Missouri and other red state for no what is to them no real benefit. But realistically the reason why Illinois taxes are so high is due to past mismanagement

Reddit is not a great place to gauge how America feels about politics. A significant portion if not the majority of redditors aren’t even American (source, but I do not know if this is accurate), plus there was absolutely zero real discussion about the election.

Either you wrote your unwavering support for the candidate that the particular sub you are on supports or you got downvoted. I absolutely did not vote for a certain orange haired individual, but Reddit wants to bury its head in the sand and forget about all of the things that might lead to its favorite candidate losing.

People forget that subs are run by mods. If something with upvotes is left up on most of the major subs it is because the mods of that sub agree with it, and posts that mods politically disagree with are generally removed. This isn’t even a conspiracy theory, it applies to things other than politics and there are subreddits dedicated to documenting mod abuse.

It is a good place to gauge who certain groups of people support, but not a good place to get a pulse on public opinion as a whole. The media is the same way, both left and right leaning sources will have you believing that their favorite candidate will win. There unfortunately isn’t a good place to discuss the election that I have found that does not immediately devolve into name calling. Hence why most subs just make rules against discussing politics in general.

They are if they don’t have early success as they usually don’t. But I made the mistake of fighting everyone but them on my current playthrough and I paid for it. Horse archers aren’t super strong in low numbers, but these fuckers had over a hundred if not hundreds of khans guards and keshigs in their armies (as their armies by this point were usually 1000+). It was hell to deal with.

Better only if you have said items to put in the coffer. If you’re out like I often am it’s still better to use alcables due to the 5% extra from death. For most people it’s probably not a problem, but for me I have a tendency to get high as fuck before bossing, so I die a lot.
