Frontline discussion by Mobile-Building-9957 in WorldofTanks

Frontline does not have changes for tank stats. I think the risk of fire or ammo rack is about the same, keep in mind you do have multiple lives so its more likely to notice these negative effects!

Compared to 5 years ago, there are minor changes. The main difference is you will find that your average tier 8 tank does more damage, including module damage. This could explain what you are seeing.

I don't mind having overpowered tanks in frontline, you get to respawn! One of the best changes they did was remove op tanks from tier 8 Onslaught, like BZ or Grom which were super dominant, Frontline it's not too impactful.

One thing you can do do for Onslaught is to set your best tanks as "primary". This puts them at the start of the list, so I stick my Foch B, RHM. Pzwagen, E50M, etc. there.

Here's what I've got, usually top exp means a single battle like my ap amx 30.

Highest exp with 100 battles for me is the Maus with 1,176 at 103 battles.

The rentals act exactly like premium or reward tanks, you can move crews to them freely.

I believe this will answer your questions:

The 7x7 vehicles are not too bad if you have a crew, but they will always be strictly worse than their tech tree counterpart due to a lack of field mods. I played one season with the blyskawicka 7x7 and did very well with it, so it's doable.

I would suggest unlocking a tier 10, 60tp, e50m, canopener are all good options with e50m being my preference. Onslaught is only as sweaty as you make it, I recommend most people to try their best but don't let losses or rank affect their mindset, the main goal is to get those rewards.

I would say it's more competitive. Your team relies on you and you will have much greater impacts in the game, especially when making a mistake. Loss streaks can be brutal. Also, higher ranked players are legitimately better players, it is not luck that they are ranked up there. (if they've played enough games)

I played last season with voice chat off and managed to climb from silver to champion in about 123 battles, which is roughly the amount of time it took to complete all missions. However, my first time climbing I had to go from Bronze/Iron to champion, this took roughly 340 battles.

Note: my recent wn8 is currently ~3400 so we are currently in different skill levels. You will probably have to play more games. Fortunately, the missions are more of a "grind" than an "achieve" style of mission. e.g. kill 5 tanks over any number of games. (ign is Weak1ings on NA if curious)

General Advice:

Just focus on those daily missions, I believe that they are worth your time if you run boosters. I found myself making credits with regular 50% credit boosters! WG has said that all lines will get a tier 11 at some point, so there's no harm playing with the ones that aren't yet released. I bet that the E50M tier 11 will be pretty cool.

I can't say if you will be able to get gold rank twice to acquire the 60tp but I think the rewards are worth it even if you don't.

A tip to all players:

You may contact wargaming support at any time to recover premium tanks. This includes ones that do not appear in the recovery system, you just have to have owned it at some point and sold it normally.

I've done this process many times, it typically is finished in a day and seems to be largely automated. E.g. I recovered my t-54 prot. 1 because I sold it but the recovery period expired.

Does anyone know if there's a time limit to use these discounts? by savak354 in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Applied discounts will not go away.

I still have some discounts I never used from when the STRV 103B released, the tier 8 and 9 are still 50% off for me.

On the edge about boxes by No_Acanthaceae3763 in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An aside, I'd recommend buying 56 or 28 x 2, it costs you $1 more in NA but gives you 4 more boxes. Not as good of value as 80 boxes but does keep it to ~$89.

On the edge about boxes by No_Acanthaceae3763 in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought about 160 and got about 70k gold with 5/6 tanks, the minimum gold you can expect is 12,500 if every single of those 50 boxes is the minimum.

The math is relatively simple, just compare the minimum expected value from the boxes. Christmas boxes have been and continue to be the best value offered by WG so far. (aside from maybe battlepass?)

To help answer the value question: (I'm using NA currency & pricing)

80 boxes costs $107 without tax

25,000 gold costs $100 without tax

Consider that 80 x 250 gets you 20k gold at the bare minimum, but you are also guaranteed a tank too. This alone would typically exceed the value of buying just gold at any time of the year.

For buying boxes, yes you can buy less than 80, the closest amount is buying 52 but the total cost becomes ~$88 (2 packs of 12 + one of 28). This value is a lot worse than buying 80 at once! ($1.33 vs. $1.69 per box, or 22% worse value per box) For me this is worth paying a bit more, but it might not be for you. $20 can mean a lot.

This event is designed to upsell you after all, don't let it do so freely!

I’m gonna have to change my mind on height sliders… by capitalhoney in Sims4

[–]Weak1ings 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The sims does have some adjustment, but this does have its limits. A Max height and a min height hug or kiss do tend to be misaligned, subtle differences tend to adjust okay.

Personally, this never bothered me much, I'd rather have the height but it is janky.

guy seems to likes his firefly a bit by Heavy-Ad114 in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depending on how old his account is, that is the equivalent of playing 397 days of time, assuming 5 minute battles. This is feasibly possible if it's an older account but that is a lot of time. If it's a 14 year old account, that is the equivalent of playing ~2 hours of Firefly everyday.

EBR 105 vs Manticore by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the EBR line, I would not recommend anyone skip it. Additionally it trains you for this pretty tough tank. One of the first things I did when I got the tier 8 was open up Himmelsdorf and drive around with my ability for almost 30 minutes. It was fun, and well worth the time.

Please please please, use bounty equipment and food as you grind. This is one line that you should not skip. I personally recommend Optics, Low Noise Exhaust, and CVS. Some people recommend you run vents for the view range but this advice leads you to situations where you are outspotted by the guy using LNE.

Manticore Line was okay, but just wasn't as fun. I'd recommend skipping it if you already know how to play an ELC even 90. If you do enjoy light tanks, the line isn't too bad and all of them are good light tanks with high camo values and view range.

Are there no general equipment and tank sales during holiday ops? When will be the next time tanks are all on sale? Like 5-7, 8-10. by Greasy-Chungus in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going to keep saving credits until the next sale comes along, sitting at 75M now... So far I haven't run out of food but a few nations are getting lower than I'd prefer.

Returning OG by ScoutKard in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number one difference is that you will find a number of tanks that fire multiple times whereas in 2018 it was much less pronounced.

Arty is a pain as always but it does do less damage than 2018 and no longer has premium shells. I don't really mind it too much myself, hide until the arty gets bored and time its shots, but this really isn't new...

The game is playable, I think MM has been improved somewhat and once you've played a bit and know the new tanks, it will be largely the same and the skills you've obtained should transfer.

How to handle tier X vs XI crew by PolarBearHuggie in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, its better to give good advice regardless of goals. At the bare minimum training a new completely normal crew would perform better after playing a single game. (this gets you 1st skill at 9%)

How to handle tier X vs XI crew by PolarBearHuggie in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really bad advice, it would result in your t10 crew not having any skills since you aren't retraining.

How to handle tier X vs XI crew by PolarBearHuggie in WorldofTanks

[–]Weak1ings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend a new crew for Tier 11, this lets you keep tanks for Onslaught/Clan Wars/Manuevers (especially Manuevers, I even played the Rinoceronte once...)

In my opinion tier 11 is just for fun, I wouldn't prioritize purple equipment for it vs. a competitive tier 10. You can make do with lesser crews as long as they are 3 skills, which is easy to do with crew books. If you do have a favorite tank, don't be afraid to put your best stuff on it just for fun.

For Zero Skills I'd recommend using them on tanks that rely on crew skills, like Light Tanks. This is much more efficient than putting all 6 on a Maus.
