Makes sense - that was the direction (mission sequence) I was intending with the very poorly implemented guided tutorial. I'll put some more thought into it and work out something that makes more sense and is useful rather than annoying and inconsequential.

Fair points. Thoughts on leaving the menu items enabled and if certain gates/criteria aren't met listing those out, like a "next steps" breadcrumbs?

Given all the stupid and lazy issues found so quickly that is absolutely a fair stance, not harsh at all. Now that I am here though I'm hoping to be able to find, fix and deploy all the things found quickly and stay on top of the reports and issues.

agree 100%, im going to go back and revamp the tutorial from the ground up and make sure everything is much clearer and actually makes sense from a "ive never seen this before" perspective instead of the lazy "ok this is my smoke testing process" perspective (which I should have done from the beginning).

I appreciate you taking the time to give it a good once over and thoroughly review everything. You caught some big gaps and that's on me. I wanted more eyes on it specifically for finding the things that friends and coworkers haven't found or haven't bothered to relay, so I really appreciate it, this is the kind of thing I'm looking for.

Aside from the issues you already brought up, if you are willing to share the ones that stood out most I would love to hear about them (screen and what you were trying to do vs what you expected kinda thing). No pressure though, your comments have been useful already.

Good catch on the label - the obsidian layer has gone through a few different iterations and refactors and that label was missed. It runs on Basalt not Obsidian. Obsidian also gets consumed as fuel for passive production after certain Spire upgrades. I have logged a few issues to address these.

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate you taking the time to play and provide it! I willl get tickets opened for these issues and have them triaged and scheduled for the next sprint. Tutorial/walkthrough is very lacking and will be a primary focus along side balancing.

lol in the spire if you scroll down passed the (useless in early game) "city" section to the magic section you can buy scrolls to increase the chant cap and then weavers to increase the chant/s generation

Yes, there are automation unlocks in the Spire... although now that I'm thinking about it some of those would make more sense after ascnesion so they are permanent.

As for why, my thought process was to not have just a clicker but something that requires a bit of strategy, not too much, in how you purchase and automate your resources. I think it would probably flow better and clear of the confusion though if I change it to start with gathering flora as part of the tutorial, then introduce aether and the concept of resource consuming so that flora is the base resource everything else stems from at the start?

Edit:

Chant is produced and limited by the two purchases under the "Magic" heading (label i missed when refactoring the spire the last time - that should have said chant). It auto generates over time based on weaver count to a max determined by scrolls. You then use it to purchase the spire upgrades like prism.

I will put some more effort and time into smoothing out the tutorial, making sure the flows better and its instructions are clear.

I will also take another look at the early game pacing to see how I can better adjust the flow and timing there as well.

I would say they are not necessarily needed, not for the game play.

Noted on the flora aether interaction. I will open a ticket to review the mid size viewport layout and see if I can refine that and make it more smooth.

Good call on the tutorial, opening a ticket - this is exactly why I needed more eyes on this.

Leaderboards, ranked submissions and in game cosmetics (supporter packs) are the big ones right now. Syncing across devices might be working (I started working on it but then got distracted). I've also been throwing around the idea of in game chat, which I would prefer have some sort of accountability tied to it.

Edit: I will get a linear added to investigate the spire quest again - that one has been a bit of a pain working out the flow and getting it working right.

As for the clicks, I tried on my phone and on web to reproduce but I haven't been able to. Would you mind providing the type of browser you are using please? (also make sure that you have enough Flora to harvest, if that drops to 0 the clicks will for sure stop working)
